Division I: Rocklin (12-0) vs. Folsom (9-3)
Rocklin and Folsom play for a second time after both notched last second wins in the semi-finals. Rocklin beat St. Mary’s-Stockton 51-48 on a last play field goal. Folsom scored and converted a two point conversion late in the fourth quarter to beat Jesuit 22-21. The Thunder won 40-7 in the regular season in the first full game without Tyler Tremain for the Bulldogs.
Division II: Central Catholic (11-1) vs. Monterey Trail (8-5)
Monterey Trail has been on a terrific run to make the section finals. Behind a good offensive line, Ali Collier has rushed for at least 100 yards in four straight games with 11 touchdowns. The Raiders have a two-headed running attack of Aiden Taylor and Julian Lopez. They have forced 24 turnovers this year.
Division III: Oakdale (9-2) vs. Manteca (9-3)
Oakdale has rolled during its five game winning streak, including a 28-0 win over Manteca. The Mustangs had four straight shutouts before a 33-7 win over Patterson. Manteca’s Blake Nichelson has had an All-NorCal type season with more than 2,000 yards of offense and seven sacks on defense. He missed the regular season meeting against Oakdale.
Division IV: Vanden (10-2) vs. Merced (9-3)
Vanden quarterback Tre Dimes has thrown for 2,498 yards and 35 touchdowns, including 12 scores to Michael Belk. The Vikings have scored at least 60 points in three of the last four games. Merced gained 572 total yards, according to the Stockton Record, in last week’s 51-50 win over Kimball. Merced’s losses this year came to Central Catholic, Downey and Patterson.
Division V: Escalon (11-1) vs. Hilmar (11-2)
Escalon has given up 12 points per game in its 11 wins, including a 34-10 semi-final win over Ripon. On October 1, Escalon beat Hilmar 24-14. Hilmar has won six in a row since back-to-back losses to Ripon and Escalon. It has held seven opponents to eight points or less.
Division VI: Argonaut (9-3) vs. Rosemont (11-2)
Mateo Flores, Colby Eckhart and Caleb McElfish all have double digit rushing touchdowns for Argonaut, which has their most wins since going 11-1 in 2012. Sophomore Michael Cherry has rushed for 1,496 yards and 17 touchdowns for the Wolverines.
Division VII: Woodland Christian (11-0) vs. Le Grand (7-5)
Woodland Christian quarterback Billy Hinkle has thrown for 1,079 yards and 15 touchdowns to go with a team leading 894 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. Le Grand’s Louie Aguallo had four rushing touchdowns last week against Mariposa County. The Bulldogs are on a season best three game winning streak.
