I'm out at Sac State tonight for this SFL rematch. Anybody else making the trek?

This game is being streamed via NFHS, might be somewhere on local radio too, but I'll try to post some updates if anybody is interested.

NFHS for me. I love that I can watch the CC Oakdale final as well. Good luck DO. good luck athletes! Hopefully no injuries and no goats!

I'm on 50yardline watching DO warm up. I see Udoffia out there.

Love this game. As a SFL fan I can't lose

Great running into you again, my friend. My wife and I are also right on the 50, on the opposite side, in the first couple rows of seats with seatbacks.

BTW, if the Thunder win, I know that same pizza place you met us at plans to stay open if you feel like stopping by for a beer on me.

After trading INT's, Del Oro scores from 2 yards out on a run by #5 Gee.

7-0 Golden Eagles w/ 6:57 to go 1 qtr

Evyn Holtz counters with a 68-yard TD run.

XP was missed wide right.

7-6 Del Oro leads.

5 yd TD pass from Floyd to Overton. Frosh kicker with the XP.

13-10 Thunder leads.

5:11 to go til half

Rocklin commits a personal foul as the QB was pushed out of bounds. Could have been 2nd and 20 but 2 and 5 instead. The Golden Eagles broke a short pass down inside the 2.

Next play, DO scored on a short run.

17-13 DO.

3:22 til half.

Rocklin goes 3 and out. Another terrible punt. DO takes over at midfield with 2:08 to go

Rocklin held and took over at their own 4 after a QB pooch kick.

The Thunder got near midfield but had to punt. Clock expired.

DO lead 17-13 and get the 2nd half kick.

As I mentioned to smashmouthrick pregame, this game might hinge on QB play for Rocklin. So far QB Floyd has been very erratic. He's missed numerous open receivers. He's throwing high and behind receivers. Even the TD pass he threw was behind the wide open receiver and deflected.

Lots of nerves, IMO. Not just from Floyd, but a few careless drops by WR's and poor punts by the kicker.

Better tighten that up.

Pretty much sums it up TR. Floyd is not himself tonight. His receivers are not helping either. Holtz having success going wide not sure why they don't run Holtz outside of the tackles more. DO passing game keeping DO in this game.

On 2nd and 16, Smart hit Mason Hurst for a 76 yd TD. DB Gibson-Adams was there but missed a play on the ball and the tackle.

XP blocked.

DO leads 23-13. 6:49 2nd QTR

Rocklin goes 3 and out again.

DO's defense is tackling much better than Rocklin.

Smart is vastly outplaying Floyd.

That's the difference.

Thunder drives 85 yards for a TD. On 4th and 1, Floyd hits TE Preece with a 29 yd TD pass.

23-20 Del Oro leads with :50 remaining 3rd QTR

Rocklin is threatening to lose this section title due to poor tackling.

3rd and 27 and an obvious draw play resulted in a 40+ yd TD run.

Runner ran right into the teeth of the defense and broke several tackles, got outside and outran the defense.

Play of the game right there. Huge momentum swing.

30-20. 9:19 to go.

Rocklin further self destructing. A 50+ yards pass comes back on penalty.

Pretty sure its not just poor tackling but some blown officials calls and sure does change the momentum

Way too many mental mistakes for Rocklin. Bad penalties when play is over, missed tackles also. A few blown calls like you said also.

Might be ballgame. Rocklin goes for it on 4th and 5 and, like all game, Del Oro was sitting on the short pass and Udoffia blew it up.

DO deep in Rocklin territory.

Rocklin stopped DO on downs but was intercepted near midfield. Barring a miracle, this game is over.

Rocklin's been out coached and out executed. Del Oro has played with poise, Rocklin has played with nerves all game.

I can't believe a 3-3 .500 team in the SFL has won a section title. Just speaks volumes to the strength of the SFL. Crazy!

God bless.

Congrats Del Oro!

Hate to see an SFL team lose but Rocklin will bounce back and bring it next year as they always do.

TR, I got poked in the eye during the celebration and lost a contact lens so had to make a bee line home. I will catch you next year my friend!

I was there and the officiating seemed ok to me. I have Seen a lot worse that's for sure. Rocklin lost tonight at the qb position. Del Oros QB was better and that was the defining factor in my opinion. That was my first game watching both of these teams and I would have guessed had I not known that Del Oro was the team with the better record. Congrats Del Oro. You earned it tonight on the field

Not saying the qb wasn't an issue but the officiating was and I'm not one to complain about officials...but at this level they should at least know how

I have a question for people that have seen Rocklin before this season.
Was Rocklin's play action pass game similar as it was tonight? What I am asking is play action with 3-4 verticals/seems/fades?

Not one to complain about officials, but literally every post you've made on this board contained complaints about officials.

I tend to look at bad officiating when it leans severely to one team over an other. In my opinion it was pretty even. If anything Del Oro got the short end. Last night I saw Del Oro 3 or 4 different times drive the ball and then penalties would back them up to very long conversions tries. Sometimes 30 or more yards. The heart break for Rocklin fans is that Del Oro converted a lot of these. Rocklin's inability to throw the ball on Offense and stop the pass on defense was their Kryptonite. Except for some cruddy tackling on a draw play late when it was 3rd and very long, Rocklin's run defense was stout. I am sure the first meeting Del Oros passing game was not on like it was last night. I think it surprised them. I also noticed late in the 4th that they snuck Udoffia in at the boundary corner spot as a classy move to try and get him in the Big Game. He was limping severely and I noticed it from where I was. Rocklin calls a time out and I am thinking to myself they saw him in the game and limping badly and that they were changing the play to go after him. Sure enough its 4th down and 3, they throw to his side and he had the HIT of the entire game on that play that dislodged the ball. It was Del Oros night!!!!!

Gtfoh with that yep a few of d.o. p.I.s went unflagged blatant holding by the defense ...when did you start being able to pull a jersey for more than ten yards then in lieu of a flag get talked to about it and yes a few of those penalties would have changed the outcome regardless of the other mistakes.
Sarpar- say something...real or keep your 2¢ ebt to yourself and you might want to verify something before you spew your dunced wisdumb
