For a slow Monday evening--only 19 games scheduled tonight in the SJS, the game of the day to watch on NFHS is:

Ponderosa-Shingle Springs (18-0, 2-0 in league) at Christian Brothers-Sacramento (10-5, 3-0 in league).

This is a critical Capital Valley Conference League game to determine which league team will have a "leg up" on the league title. Also, a good game to judge how good Ponderosa is, facing a stiff opponent for the first time this season.

Prior to the game, Ponderosa had a strength of schedule of 3.5. Christian Brothers was 15.6, which is good but not great. St. Mary's of Stockton's rating is 25.7.

Ponderosa should have come to the Jamboree and played a couple teams at its own level before moving into league play. (That's actually one of the good things about any post-Christmas tournament -- if you find some quality competition.)
