Why isn't there an OPEN section for SJS. It seems that every other section has it.
Who does it benefit?
What teams/Divisions does it hurt?

I Don't think not enough good teams is the problem. There arent enough good teams in SJS? Or maybe they are better placed in their divisions based on enrollment.
The SJS and school districts are not ran by people with strong ties to the Sacramento or neighborhood communities. They are ran by outsiders whose decisions have absolutely destroyed city sports. Why isn't there an OPEN section for SJS. It seems that every other section has it.

Your joking right. Alot of quality games with everyone in open moving on to Norcals could be done. Each section does their open different . Southern section puts teams in pools of 4 and everyone gets to watch/ play 3 games with pool winners getting 4. Ccs does a modified 8 team bracket . This year may be down a bit but every year there could have been an open playoffs. Modesto Christian, Sheldon, Folsom, Capital Christian, Inderkum, Lincoln , Elk Grove , Jesuit , Grant would have been a good start last year. There arent enough good teams in SJS? D1 basically is the open. All the best teams will be there. Why isn't there an OPEN section for SJS. It seems that every other section has it.

in the ncs you must make the final to move to norcal. is that the same in sjs?
so that might be a reason why. ncs you gotta make the final so getting to the open eliminates that issue if you get upset in the semi or before. No in the SJS its the Final 4 from each division, with maybe 1 or 2 at large bids.

as well as most top teams in sjs are D1.
last season the ponderosa team was talked about by buddy on here like the showtime lakers and got bounced early. it would have helped them if they were in the open then they would have gone to state even with the lost
the best 8 yearly are all D1 schools?Correct. So am asking is it better we have one or not.
I personally thinks it helps and makes sense for everyone except D1. lol
Each section is limited as to the number of teams that can go to NorCals. If they take more D1 schools, then that means less schools make it from the other divisions. So wouldn’t it make sense to take more D1 schools?
