Pondo has a tough first draw against st marys of Stockton. Crazy seeding. Not a cake walk.

I could see OR going on road and beating Weston ranch tnite.

Okay, I'll jump in here, although I haven't seen many of these teams... NCS has been so terrific that it's been hard to tear myself away very much...

D1: Inderkum (saw them once very early in the season, super impressed by their speed and athleticism)

D2: Ponderosa (Not a lot of powerhouses on their schedule, but undefeated is undefeated. If the chalk holds and they play Elk Grove in the SJS final, that'll be a lot close than the 68-40 over Elk Grove minus their top big)

D3: Vanden (Survived the lumps of a very tough preseason slate to win league, should be a monster at this level)

D4: Total stab in the dark here for me... I'll try the 5-seed, Union Mine.

D5: Even darker stab in the dark... I'll go with the chalk, Denair.

LL, yeah... St. Mary's-Stk has a lot of losses, but many of those are to powerhouses like Lincoln, Modesto Christian and Campo. I would think that they could very well have been a middle seed, like 9-11. However, I think Pondo can deal with them.

Thx kiddman32. agreed. They’ve played a tough schedule but home game for pondo and I’m sure that gym will be packed .

It’s been a long time since a #1 seed went down in the first round.
Yup. And 27-0 going in. Wonder if anybody was out? I have no idea. I’ve followed this team close all year. I always thought they were 1 kid away from going deep. The kid who transferred from OR but wasn’t eligible. Really tough way to go

Ponderosa losing busted a lot of brackets tonight. It Also shows that the San-Joaquin Section has absolutely zero ability to make an ideal bracket. D1 bracket was ridiculous with Folsom at 2 right after losing to Oak ridge. Who is Folsom’s best win? ( Vanden, capital, Spanish springs?) Folsom was nuked at home vs Ponderosa. Sheldon has better wins and won the Delta league, which is a lot harder then SFL. SJS gave Lincoln a 4 seed, which should have been a 2 seed, being they had Campo beat until a buzzer beater.

Delta is the toughest league in SJS yet, EG and Jesuit are placed on the same side of the bracket for D2 making a Inter league matchup in second round. St. Mary’s has to be the best 17th seed ever, how does st Mary’s lose to a 2 seed EG by 10, and Oakmont lose to Elk Grove by 11 and get a 5 seed. Reward teams for playing a tuff schedule and having some notable wins. Just because your 22-6 doesn’t mean your better then a 14-14 team that’s had an extremely difficult schedule. There is flaws all over these Brackets and Pondo paid the price,
Because SM IS NOT A 17 seed.

Can we talk about SJS not having a open division for sections? Why wouldn’t the SJS be thinking about an Open division? It’s clear cut that it works, and makes sense to put the best teams in a division of their own. Only one team from each division is going to win a section title anyway. Rocklin, Mcclatchy, Downey, Monterey Trail, were all thrown to the wolves. Because Folsom, Inderkum, Lincoln, Sheldon, MC, should all be in a league of there own. Compete for a open section title and get a automatic Bid for Norcals (sounds familiar like every section But SJS does this) Those teams are elite this season.

Dear SJS, Maxpreps can’t do your job for you. You actually have to go out and watch some games and understand cupcake wins hold zero value. Maxpreps computer rankings don’t understand that.

I couldn’t agree with this more! Read my post about St Marys. How are are they a 17th seed! Folsom in d1 struggled with mcclatchy last night. They are a #5 -6 seed this year not #2.
Feel bad for pondo but d2 is an absolute war. Easily the best overall group of teams. Honestly, Whitney, Elk Grove, Grant are all capable of winning it and oakmont is sneaky good.
Folsom will get bounced by Edison. I’ve said it all year. One of weaker Folsom teams in last decade.
Pondo Beat every sfl team too. And all Play-off ones are Still playing. Horribly bad luck
