Let’s smash Ball St! Best team in the Bay for 2020

That may or may not be true. We cannot know for sure. But, without a doubt, the planets aligned nicely for SJS in 2020, despite enormous logistical challenges. Both Stanford and Cal, in spite of their problems this season, would provide the Spartans with major issues. Not sure how Las Vegas wise guys would see a Stanford vs. SJS matchup. But it would not be a shock if the Cardinal was a 3-point (or more) favorite. That assumes both teams are healthy. In a virus-tattered year, who the heck knows.

As a diehard Cal fan I agree it would be close games.....Cal offense wasn’t very good they had the worst special teams I seen this year in college football and Stanford was terrible too outside of their passing game........I think SJSU could beat either one this year......SJSU had a better offensive line then either team, better Qb then Cal for sure, better pass rushers then either team......I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to seen SJSU best either team as both Cal and Furd were pretty poor and anyone who watched the Big Game could see some bad quality football

Dated Article - Yet as, a long time SJSU Fan / It felt good and still feels good ....

"After hugging each other on the field and leaping against a sideline fence to thank their fans, the San Jose State Spartans still weren’t done celebrating yet another upset of Stanford.

As they headed past the somber Cardinal locker room after their 40-27 victory on Saturday night, the exuberant Spartans lobbed a few verbal barbs through the open door.

``Three years in a row!″

``Pac-10 who? Pac-10, Schmack-10!″

``We shocked the world!″

Actually, the Spartans’ latest win over their crosstown rivals wasn’t terribly surprising. After three straight victories over Pac-10 champion Stanford, unassuming San Jose State clearly holds some sort of power over its high-class rivals.

Here is to some Great SJSU Football on NYE

That didnt last long.

outside of Bama and Clemson not many teams function at a high level when their conference defensive player of the year is out, 2 starting offensive lineman are out, their #1 reciever averaging over 100 yds a game is out, 2 starting DBs are out, their starting TE who leads the team in TD receptions is out, their starting KR is out.....offensive coordinator is out and defensive coordinator is out.......most teams will suffer a setback, just COVID reality just like Florida got boat raced with 10 starters out and 32 scholarship players down

Tough end for San Jose State. Definitely a stacked deck against them with what they were without on Thursday

San Jose State seems to be playing it close to the vest with it, which leads me to think it may be something else and/or a combination of COVID plus something else
