I think when NorCal Preps updates in Class of 2016 rankings that Chavez definitely needs to be part of it. He's a bit under the radar since he was part of a very deep Drake HS last season as a junior is not well known on the AAU circuit. He's part of the long time Chavez basketball family in Marin County and has had a tremendous senior season. He's a legit 6'5" with good handles right and left, solid range out to 3 with a good mid-range game too and he's a fantastic athlete around the rim - he's also a great volleyball player. I've seen him play now four times in big games and he's been really great each time. I believe he can absolutely play at the low D1 or high D2 level in college. I hope NorCal Preps takes a look...

I remember an Eddie Joe Chavez when I was a kid, who played for Drake. Must be related
