Slightly off-topic... BUT...

Yup... Shot I believe 0 of 6 from the arc, had a couple uncharacteristic turnovers... Certainly had some good moments, tho... Like her first bucket after rebounding her own miss, then getting the rack for the score.

Seven rookies on the Liberty, too. Tough time to have to play the likely league favorite.

Step Slow Sabrina scores 33 in her 2nd pro game.

Thank you! If you know basketball, you know her debut was solid—not her best, but not bad for a rookie in her first game against possibly the top team in the league. How many rookies were regularly double teamed in their debut? So how does she respond? With 33 in her second game. Those that want to sell her short after one game don’t know Sab, and I would contest, don’t know basketball.

And all this discussion about foot speed can also be overblown. She is highly skilled and fiercely competitive with an elite Bball IQ. Taurasi is arguably the greatest ever and is not particularly fast/athletic. Stewie, while she has great length, is not overly quick. Plum, Sue Bird...many can play elite basketball that aren’t the fastest or jump the highest. Give me a skilled winner over a raw athlete

Sabrina is going to be just fine and will perform even better with players around her. She has very little help right now.

This has been an age old problem, from high school on. Fans and coaches put such a premium on athleticism that they lose sight of how a player actually performs. There are so many players that look great in a uniform and jump out of the gym that aren't very good basketball players. Smart players learn to take better angles, read and anticipate on court situations and use developed skills to make up for perhaps a slightly slower step.
