Summer Classic Kick Off at Chabot Last Weekend

Impressive field at Chabot last weekend. El Cerrito goes 5-0, Valley Christian from San Jose 4-1, Monte Vista 4-1, Mt. Eden 3-1, Miramonte, Albany and Newark Memorial all go 3-2 with many close games. Next varsity, JV, and frosh/soph tournament at Chabot June 30, July 1 and 2nd. Heard James Logan was in the event also. How did the state runner up look? How did Amador Valley look?

Also how did Oakland Tech look? Must be a little rough losing such a good play like Souley Boom

Logan lost all the starters but were impressive. A lot of quickness and some shooters. I saw them blowout Amador. I know Amador has all their players back but I didn't recognize any of them. I heard they have a lot of football guys and baseball guys.

Monte vista looked very good with two big guys inside.
Mt.Eden surprised me with all of their athleticism and a very good point guard who actually passes the ball and runs the offense. THey could surprise this year.
Hayward played a 2-3 the entire game in a summer league game. BORING !
Newark plays hard.
El Cerrito was better than I thought.
VC looked very good and their big guy is really good but complains too much. Miramonte got the best shooting award. All of their guys can shoot. Really good guards. How come they don't win ! THey were the best skilled team that I saw. No bigs
San Lorenzo same as always. Play hard. Not much talent.
Logan loaded again.
Albany well coached and run stuff. Not loaded like the past.
Oak Tech vs Mt Eden was a good game . Very similar teams.

Mt. Eden might be a team to watch, lots of talent and with new coaching (Coach Barbour) bringing that WCAL swag they could make some noise.
