Let's hear it for the San Francisco Chronicle. In a piece detailing the city's irrational virus-induced rules governing youth sports, it focused at some length on one sport in particular. Football? Uh, no. Try fencing. Yes, fencing, that pillar of prep competition and rabid fan fixation. Only in San Francisco, folks.

Haha - that's funny. Fencing - where the whole point is to keep a distance from your opponent. Of course, if the writer had really thought about the origin of the sport, they might retract. I mean, originally the goal was to kill your opponent in a dueling match.
