A lawsuit filed by three ex-St. John Bosco High employees alleges that coach Jason Negro embezzled money from the Catholic school and had assistants pay players' tuition in cash.

Not at all…. SJB was a very average HSFB program before JN got there, so to build it into what he did so quickly, you had to figure he was gaming the system, paying tuition for players, etc….

All the kids that went to private school in that area went to Loyola or ST Paul or Servite but most of the top players went to LPB…. So it makes sense that JN was paying tuition for kids to go to SJB….

JN sent a lot of kids to D1 colleges, so I don’t know if what he did was really that wrong or not and I don’t think it will hurt the program unless the CIF sanctions SJB for breaking rules….

His biggest problem will probably be with the IRS if they want to investigate all that unaccounted for cash…. 🤣

Yup. I would argue SJB is the reason LBP isn’t dominant anymore. They really hurt that pipeline.

So Cal kids don’t want to go to school in Bellflower….. The best players will end up at MD and Servite, the rest will go to LBP or Commute to Cen10….

SJB doesn’t have the powerhouse Alum’s like MD, Servite and Loyola do…. Money isn’t flowing into SJB without JN’s Cash operations….. 🤣

lol no paper trail! It really wouldn’t be hard to prove if they were truly investigated. It alleges he was paying player’s tuitions in cash. Am I the only one who finds that a red flag? What kind of catholic school would take cold hard cash for tuition fees? They don’t notice there’s a trend of football players paying tuitions in cash?

Regardless this is still a stain on that program and just confirms what some have been saying for years.

Exactly!….. The only possible thing they can prove is kid’s Tuition being paid in Actual Cash, but they would also have to have the Families of the kids Corroborate this and proof of who paid the $$….

A big nothing burger as far as I see it…. The worst case scenario is JN has to start accounting for the $$ he brings in from camps, merch sales, parking, etc and won’t be able to pay tuition for kids that don’t qualify for financial aid, or go on Benders with the coaches in Palm Springs….

SJB may take a talent hit for this but I am sure he will find a way around it with NIL and the way everything is going these days….

Tuition in cash just sounds not even real. Schools on every level set up payment thru FACTS Portal so monthly dues are billed and paid with account. Plus why would one choose to pay the full tuition? Aren't most players in this situation just given a discount on the overall tuition?

In any case, no one is surprised this happens especially if you school has top notch teams every single year in the major sports.

Exactly!…. The lawsuit is about wrongful termination by former employees, it’s not the School suing The Coach for Embezzlement or the Coach getting arrested for a crime….

No one is going to SJB if JN and his ATM machine leave…. They will sink back into mediocrity just as fast as they rose to nation prominence….. 🤣
