If you're not an external link kind of person, here's a quote.
"California high school star Jalen Green, the No. 1 prospect in the 2020 ESPN 100, is making the leap to a reshaped NBA professional pathway program -- a G League initiative that sources say will pay elite prospects $500,000-plus and provide a one-year development program outside of the minor league's traditional team structure."

This path isn't for everyone, but man does this make things interesting for the future!

Any thoughts?

The money up front is really good but you also can lose money on the first endorsement deals. How much buzz do you generate training and playing in a handful of exhibition type games?

If you look at an example like Zion, he improved his endorsement haul by what he did at Duke and building upon his reputation coming out of HS.

I don’t see Jalen or anyone else building a brand like that in the G League.

All that said, that is real money he is getting and can’t fault someone for going for it

but zion also took money... see at least jalen wont have that stigma on him.. although once in the pros it doesnt even matter if you took money. lol

He's scheduled to make $700k. Inside knowledge!

As long as he stays healthy I doubt money will ever be an issue for green. Zion was so big at duke and espn helped make him bigger than god. Timing was everything and his was perfect

ESPN will fully push the G league as long as young future stars are continuing to go that route. I’m sure they will show highlights of the G league if it has the consensus number 1 pick.

There is no consensus #1 pick in 2021. Emoni Bates' draft will be the next one with a consensus #1 pick!
I wonder what kind of insurance will be provided. I recall top college guys would take out policies with potential 7-figure payouts from Lloyds. Of course there were some hefty premiums on them.
