If it was only about the Benjamin’s, then why did the PAC 12 postpone their season in the first place. In addition you’re cynical view point that the only thing the coaches and AD’s care about is cash, cash and more cash. I don’t buy into that. There are relationships and bonds that go far beyond cash. Coaches are mentors that teach kids how to be men.
Exactly. But there are those (above) who’ll always pivot to the geo-political theories instead of science. The bias is as thick as...a swamp.
So please tell us:
1. Why the PAC-12 had to wait to finalize the rapid antigen contract with Quidel’s Sofia SARS antigen FIA? Never heard of it? Read. Data, son. Posting complaints about decision makers while ignorant of the difference of PCR and antigen tests, costs, and reagent supply chain issues can’t be explained with a sharpie.
2. Why such a breakthrough would’ve prevented V-Tech from having 23 players, and several staff sit out yesterday as the ACC protocol is to test weekly?!
The HS FB “states” are right now treading a a slippery and perilous slope. Let alone the schools without roster sizes like the Hokies, but simply taking a forehead temp and asking, “Do you have a cough?” entirely disregards the FACT upwards of 40% of carriers never have symptoms. If college football could not wait for the newest science of rapid antigen testing the PAC-12 has now contracted for, therein lies your “economy” claim. They were greedy. And there will be suffering.
Based on the aforementioned meteoric amplification (“it’ll be ready very, very soon!”, there’s your Benjamins at work) of protocols to protect John Q. Public, maybe now some will appreciate the wisdom, and patience, of California school leaders to wait until January for HSFB. Maybe....
