Matt Imhof of Cal Poly and Mission San Jose (yes, MSJ) and now in A+ for the Phillies suffered the loss of an eye in a freak training injury when some equipment failed. Although he had immediate care from the best eye docs on the planet, the injury was deemed irreversible. Great kid, excellent pitcher.

I saw a news report on that. What a horrible tragedy. Broken nose, 2 broken orbital bones and loss of an eye due to the failure of some exercise equipment he was using.
Best wishes for Matt for a speedy recovery, but it sounds like his sight loss will be permanent.
