Tragedy strikes again for Atkinson family

George Atkinson III has died at the age of 27. His twin brother, Josh, died a year ago.

Both were 2011 graduates of Granada HS

Oh my, what happened? Dad George was one of the first Raiders I remember when I started becoming interested in football. Old #43. Sorry to hear about that. Awful news

Unknown right now, but they suspect it is suicide.

That’s horrible news. RIP. Both of the Atkinson twins won the NCS 100 Meters championship. George won as a junior and his twin brother Josh won it their senior year when George was injured. Tragic.

They also lost their mother in 2018 if I remember correctly. Such tragedy... mental illness is a tough deal to contend with.

Yes, unfortunately his twin brother took his life shortly after their mother passed....

Those were 2 young men who persevered through incredible adversity who’s lives ended way to soon....

Just because your father played in n the NFL doesn’t mean Your life will be easy....!I is a difficult story.... God Bless those young men...

Anybody who know somebody with schzipronia knows the ending is usually jail, homelessness, or suicide. It’s a terrible illness. It’s also passed genetically so I’m not sure If the kids were struggling as well as it typically comes on in early 20’s. May there lives be filled with greener pastures. So sad
