Care to post or show the CIF rule SOCAL operates under? And at which point in the state defines SOCAL? Is it Fresno? Gilroy? Stockton? Why?in SoCal.. yes.

Ok so can you site the CIF rule that gives these sections a benefit in transfers?CIF Southern Section, LA Section and SD section. Everything else is “NorCal” or just not socal (SLO-Bakersfield north)
Or some schools don’t sell their soul for a bowl game…I listened to an interview with the coach from Serra SM. You gotta be kidding me that the high school requires you to be enrolled for at least two years to graduate (which would rule out incoming senior transfers). That is ridiculous and from the interview it looks like Walsh is complacement with where his program is and will accept the L from the SoCal football schools or even losing to Folsom (who recruits). You guys up in SIlicon Valley have to get with the times and get rid of your old fashion mindset. The game has changed especially with NIL at the d1 level and probably will eventually creep its way into high school football if it hasn't already.
I wonder what required courses Serra has the kids take to have this arbitrary two year requirement to graduate? I hope it's not critical r....
I also heard this podcast and the only accurate thing is that, according to what Walsh said, senior transfers are not able to graduate. And, yeah, Walsh gave the vibe that selling his soul to become Mater Dei or SJB is not on the table.I listened to an interview with the coach from Serra SM. Can you direct us all to the source or rules for Socal transfers? We constantly hear on these pages they have a different set of rules, where can we find these?Eligibility and Transfers
Q: Can a player quit a team and then rejoin at a later date in the same season?
A: Each coach and school may have their own policy regarding this issue. Please contact your school athletic director.
Q: What year in high school is there no penalty for transferring?
Q: How do I become eligible when I move from another country?
Q: How do I become eligible when I move from another city/county/state?
Q: Can a student play on two high school sports teams during the same season?
Q: What are the academic requirements for eligibility?
Q: I have not played a varsity sport at my school if I transfer schools, am I then eligible to play a varsity sport at the new school?
Q: Am I able to play my high school sport and club sport at the same time?
A: Questions and answers to transfer eligibility can often seem confusing. For parents and guardians, your BEST RESOURCE IS ALWAYS YOUR SCHOOL ATHLETIC DIRECTOR. A major role for the school A.D. and administration is to help parents and student-athletes with transfer eligibility questions. Additionally, to help and assist parents and guardians the State CIF has a Transfer and Eligibility page that may help you better understand CIF rules and regulations. However, every transfer situation will have individual circumstances and issues so it is vital that you meet with your school's administration to discuss these issues. Your school administration will then work with your local CIF Section.
The answer to your questions is ….no and you won’tCan you direct us all to the source or rules for Socal transfers? We constantly hear on these pages they have a different set of rules, where can we find these?
I’m well aware of the rules thanks. My point might be flying over your head however. We constantly hear on this board people ranting about SOCALS advantages because of their transfer rules, where its wide open and they do as they please. My understanding is CIF governs the state and there is no rules for thee and not for me. So I’m openly giving the NORCAL fans every opportunity to point to the mythical rule. It either that or STFU about it.Hi Truth, look at the link for Transfer and Eligibility. It does say that all transfers have to be investigated by the incoming school to declare eligibility. It says to talk to the incoming school Athletic Director for any questions to that school's requirements. All schools are under C.I.F. rule and must comply with bylaws.

Ah, still upset about Folsom beating DLS last year are we?I’m well aware of the rules thanks. My point might be flying over your head however. Could careless about DLS losing last year or ever. In terms of host families do you have examples or is this more myth like the supposed difference in rules? I‘m unaware of host families or for that matter if there are host families this being a way to skirt rules. Im pretty sure there are rules in place for this.Ah, still upset about Folsom beating DLS last year are we?
And to clarify your question, as you tend to beat around your bush- there is not different rules in Norcal vs. Socal in regards to transfers.
NorCal schools just haven't jumped on the train as of yet. A few here and there, but they still have not engaged in (and one is illegal).
1. Host families
2. Transferring in for 1 semester and then going back "home."
This is your forum to now explain us the "mythical" use of host families. Would you like to explain?
