Reported in the Sac Bee today, Folsom starting QB Tyler Tremain suffered an injury to his non throwing shoulder vs DLS and is out. Backup Jr Carter Martinelli will make the start vs Rocklin.

Tough break for Folsom, that's a really good player. I also read the Sac Bee article and while Joe D gave props to the thunder having to deal with similar circumstances, I really wish the 6-1 Bulldogs and 7-0 Thunder matchup was the focus and wasnt pathologically just about Folsom. It is what it is, that's Joe D's schtick. I digress

It will be a fun competitive game, no doubt in my mind that will feature Folsoms highly potent offense vs. Rocklins stingy defense. This game will be won in the trenches, De La albeit a class of there own, provided the blueprint. This game will have a major impact on post season seeding for Folsom and equally important for the thunder.

Rocklin may have the edge in this game because Rocklin’s Back up QB already has a Game under his belt and the game is at Rocklin….

Folsom Relies on a Finesse offense passing attack with speed and timing and now they have to run it with the Back up QB with 1 week of practice…. Playing against the Best Defense in the SFL is a tough ask for a back up an in Folsom’s style of offense….

I like Rocklin in this one in a close low scoring game….

It’s just so unfortunate that Both Those Kids are injured, you just hate seeing that!!!….

I think this is the story I was thinking may occur. I could see a much lower scoring affair with rocklin winning the line of scrimmage and the game. Big advantage goes to rocklin with there backup QB already with more practice time and game reps.

Rocklin QB has two games under his belt and not against slouches....Granite Bay and Oak Ridge!

Folsom by a few scores. No SFL team has been able to touch then since the late days of AOL. Rocklin defense won't be able to stop them even with a back up QB.

I find it interesting that all of Folsom’s 54 point+ wins are ONLY against Sac/SFL teams. Pitt and DLS kept the Bulldogs well below that ppg. Bay Area teams (NCS and CCS) appear to have some strong teams this year.

Exactly. I’ve seen both teams play this year in person a couple times. Folsom does not like physical teams. DLS bothered them with getting up in there space. Rocklin fundamentally is incredible as well. Very impressed with how those kids tackle. I could see an ugly game and signs are pointing in thunder direction

pfq makes allot of predictions....Really shoots his mouth off......and has to eat crow....amazed he climnbed out from under his hide out rock......maybe a loss will shut him up for good!

I actually hope Rocklin does win. I am actually tired of seeing Folsom owns the teams in the SFL. Frankly, it's embarrassing over the last decade.

Folsom OPEN
St Francis 1AA
DLS 1A

There is no chance Rocklin is beating Folsom. Keep dreaming on Highway 80.

You are Disingenuous and a Liar…. Here you are this morning Trolling about How Folsom Should go in the Open And Rocklin Has No Chance against Folsom….

Now you are saying “You Hope Rocklin Wins”….. 🤣

I guess this is all part or your “schtick”…. 🤣🤣

You'll know if/when pfq changes his St Francis Avatar for a Rocklin Avatar.

Carter Martinelli looks pretty good. Not very tall but accurate passer and looks relatively mobile. Definitely not at the level of Tremain yet. If Rocklin has a decent defensive line and DBs they may be able to slow the Folsom offense. Game may be relatively close.

Rocklin has won 11 straight and has held opponents to 89 pts in those 11 games. These guys don’t give up points and resemble more wcal style. Line has plenty of 250-270 lb kids that can move and are physical. I doubt they lose the line of scrimmage. Limit the big plays and I like there chances.

Folsom hasn't lost to Rocklin in any of its classes at all levels at least with any of the players that will be on the field. Rocklin juniors were closest. Rocklin not having its starter and junior QB at Folsom throws downfield well and very accurate and also mobile. I'm inclined to think it could be close, but history of the players on the field still are in Folsom's favor. Rocklin isn't DLS. Would be an upset.

Funny how “history” is in Folsom’s favor here against Rocklin or teams in the SFL. When it’s DSL vs Folsom, history means nothing. It’s a “new season” and blah blah!

I can’t recall a time though where Folsom had a QB injury like this going into a major game. This is rare territory and Rocklin QB already led them to 2 SFL wins. Maybe I’m wrong but this will really show us what Folsom is made of.
LL33 will be in the stands!

A little bit of homerism/machismo but
I think the matchup again will come down to lineplay and physicality. I'm hearing Folsom has a lineman out and are moving pieces around, specifically moving a vet guard to replace center starkey. Obviously backfilling a guard position. This could be significant...

Rocklin has a great dline, physical very, very physical. With Carter at Q, I expect to see him take off quite a bit, it kinda there base run game anyways. Rocklin will most likely dance with Dougherty between number of downlineman they use. Example DLS ran 3, played coverage everywhere.

Rocklin isn't DLS but if they can get away with 3 and still get pressure, it could be closer than some think. Both teams are extremely well coached except Folsoms defense is not. 🤣

Folsom wont change anything on offense I suspect, wont punt, etc, why should they...they own the SFL and typically have starters resting after the 3rd qtr.

BUT This week feels different...

1. Folsom just took a major step back after losing again to DLS. That has to sting, if not embarrass some of their nationally recruited mercenaries, if not to beat De La, what the hell is the point.

2. They lost their starting QB, QB2 looks really good but unlike Thunder this is really his first varsity start. A few mistakes can change this game throwing in the no fly zone.

3. Folsom wanted no part of rocklin last year, and that weakness (fear) still lingers in tha air and will be pretty heavy come homecoming night.

4. Without getting to heavy into the film, Folsom is soft, and there defense is poorly coached. They rely on superior athletes and hey, who wouldn't.

For Thunder Its - dont lose the game in the 1st qtr, make their starters play 4, and as physical teams go, exert your will on them till 00.00.

If Folsom score 30, it's over I'm afraid. But this is a straight Arkham Asylum defense, joker mentality everywhere, if the discipline is there, I dont think we will see a high scoring game.

That’s a great summary.
I got Thunder 24-20. I think rocklin plays smash mouth and controls the line.
