today, Sabrina Ionescu recorded her 7th career triple double, tying her for the DI women's basketball career record. she's about 1/3 of the way through her sophomore season.

The Mount Rushmore of Girls Basketball is very impressive from NorCal. Sabrina is one of those historic players to come from this area. Tremendous start to her career at Oregon.

I knew she was going to be good, but I'll admit that I never knew she'd be this good. Graves has did a great job with that team in a short amount of time. I'm not sure they'll be at the UCONN level by the time she's a senior, but give her 3 years and she'll be dynamite!

checking Oregon's website, came up with other bay area connections--of course Graves coached at SMC, but Ionesco is currently tied with a player who played for Penn State, and with Louella Tomlinson, who played for SMC. one of her coaches at Oregon was the previous Pac-12 record holder, Stanford's Nicole Powell. she has twice tied Oregon's single game assist record, shared by Corrie Mizuzawa, who led Acalanes to a state title in 1999.
