Good one....aren't HOF inductees usually gone for at least 5 years. Could possibly be youngest hall of famer in the history of HS...er Academy sports

First off a big question I have, how did Josh Jackson manage to graduate with the class of 2016 and he’s now 21? I was watching Phoenix play against the Warriors and the announcer stated that Josh Jackson was the oldest freshman in college basketball last year!! I think falling back two years is actually worse than accepting cash, because your maturity puts you at an advantage.

agreed

All these Prep Schools, I feel are kind of ruining the high school basketball game. Now schools who have freshman and sophomores who might lead their programs to State titles, have to worry about those same kids being cherry picked by a local Prep school. A la Kyree Walker Moreau Catholic ----> Hillcrest Prep.

I understand they want "better competition," but how about just being a kid, enjoying your time before you have to worry about all that other serious stuff?

I feel like Prep Schools tend to ruin prospects more than help them. Just my 2 cents.

Just one year, he flunked the 8th grade. Birthday 2/1997. Graduated high school at 19 years 4 months. JKidd graduated high school at 19 years 2 months, he flunked 3rd grade....or was it 2nd.

With Jason it did not matter what grade he was in. He was by for the best player in the area and top 10 in the country. I would argue that Jason could have played in the NBA and at CAL as a junior in high school. He was that good!

on the espn article they list universities then list the violation . might as well just say every university is guilty of something .

Totally agree. I grew up in the KIDD era. Watched him play in 9th grade and against him in summer league as jr. Gary Payton and Brian Shaw would say the same thing. Still best player I've ever seen in HS.

As for this its been going on for a long time. Sad most of these are african american kids that come from low income families and get used by corrupt people. Its all about the $. For every Josh Jackson there are hundreds others that get tossed to the side. Would love to see the prep schools go away. That is the ones that have no real value to society and they are out there.

SF_Mikey, you don't know anything nor do I. Except in the case of Scumbag Sean Miller and Arizona. Give them the death penalty.

Keeps getting uglier and uglier. Ayton from Zona name now getting pulled into the mix over "100k" payment. Sean Miller is a total scumbag. Just a greasy little shit. Hope he gets whacked.

I never got a clear answer where Prolific Prep was getting their money. Always a duck and dodge. Made it seem like they were doing some charitable and not making any money.

Follow the money.

Time to halt the charade. The NBA needs to adopt a player development system along the lines of hockey and baseball, not to mention pro soccer and non-U.S. hoops. A gifted kid who turns 18 ought to be able to sign a professional contract and start playing for money legally. Forget college. The current setup encourages the sort of schemes we see today. End the basketball farce.

LaVar is leading the charge on the new league.

I agree. Current system is setup to be cheated. The elephant in the room is finally out.

Prolific Prep is a product of the current situation. How can I monetize this process? Everything i despise. You won't get a real answer and its clear few on this boards gives a rats about them.

I don't think Prolific Prep or prep school is the issue. Stuff like this was going on well before prep schools became a thing.

Larry Legend and the same old allegations every year about "follow the money". Give it a rest please. The last two years we have explained to you about our business model and how we are able to stay successful. 98% of all New Non Profits formed in the USA fail within the first 3 years. Prolific Prep will be on its 5th year of existence. Why? We are a community-funded and National Corporation funded program, with some of the most intelligent and hard-working staff members in the business. Mixed that with a well-respected board of directors ranging from State Senator/congressman, mayors, professional athletes, high powered CEO's, professional athletes, former NBA General Managers, and former parents from our program and you have something special. If you spent 15 minutes with our group and its members then you would understand.

Yes, the Adidas bosses have all been fired and they are completely starting over with their business model so nothing like this happens again. So let me ask you this. If Prolific Prep was such a "Dirty Program", then why is Adidas signing us to a long-term extension right now when they have publicly stated they are cutting ties to any high school or AAU programs linked to Agents? Please take that non-sense and direct it to somewhere else where there is an actual story.

With the formation of our new program Golden State Prep (Post-Grad), all we are going to do is put more kids into college and help them attain scholarships. I didn't see you post about Dempsey Roggenbuck? A player from Marin-County that played for Prolific Prep last year. Yes, he had to pay a fee to be a part of our program. Yes, he had to guard Gary Trent Jr (Duke) last year every day in practice, get his ass kicked, and completely change his mindset and game. Oh by the way, Dempsey was just honored First-Team All-League at Linfield College and won his conference "Freshman of the Year". I assume these are coincidences? http://golinfieldwildcats.com/news/...ark-roggenbuck-earn-all-nwc-appointments.aspx

Let's give you another. Lucas Saleh was cut from his high school freshman team in Marin County. He joined Prolific Preps Green Room Training Program for the summer and was hooked. He joined the PP team these past two years and now gets strong minutes each game. Lucas has lots of D2/NAIA interest currently and has another year left in his career. What happens without Prolific Prep? Does Lucas quit basketball after being cut from his high school in Marin if he didn't connect with PP?

Prolific Prep has changed many lives and will change hundreds more in the future. These are stories you do not read on here but I will go ahead and speak on a few since a few postings challenged our credibility.

Serious question- you state you are non profit and I understand how you are funded.

How much do you make from Prolific Prep? Do you draw a salary? Do the other coaches draw a salary?

The reason I ask is not to hate whatsoever. I am trying to understand how this works since you paint a picture like this is all a non profit operation and nobody is making money, and everyone is just there for the kids.

Can you please clarify?

This program is far from a CASH COW as people think. My first reaction is to respect everyone's privacy (just like I would with you), however, I will say this. About 20% of our staff is currently being paid some sort of a stipend, which is under the average teacher salary at a public school. :) Every single PP staff/volunteer has a regular job, own their own business, etc.

However, like most great start ups, it will lead to many more opportunities for each of its workers/volunteers because of the affiliation and because of the future projects that PP will be bringing forth in the future. We feel we are just getting started. If we can get to a point where 100% of our staff is being paid, that means we are going to be helping hundreds of more kids in the future. And this doesn't include just on the court, but also includes the programs we are started with the Napa Office of Education in regards to At-Risk individuals as well.
