The East Bay Athletic League recently added 2 teams for 2016 in Dublin and Dougherty Valley. From what I understand the new 10 team league would be split into 2 based on comeptitive equity. Speaking with someone close to the source I've come learn there is a vote to make the EBAL into one league that would have only have 1 or 2 non-league games based on an opt out with DLS. It appears the teams at the top of the food chain want to keep all the schools involved and the other half want the original proposal. It could be close! With the idea being competitve equity I decided to go to maxpreps and check the numbers. I only looked at the two Livermore schools, LHS and Granada. What I found was very intersting.... Since 2004 Granada is 9-54 against league opponents SRV, Cal, MV, AV, FH, DLS including the playoffs. Also since 2004 Livermore is 0-60 against those same teams... yes you read that right. Granada has a 7-3 advatage against LHS. Even more crazy is in that time Livermore has a 5-1 record against the two new DFAL teams now going EBAL, Dublin and DV. If this alignment is going to turn into one league where is the competitive equity? Did the new teams just get baited and switched? Are the Livermore schools going to get into a competitive league? The way I see it is...

A 1. DLS
2. Cal
3. SRV
4. Foothill
5. AV/MV

B. 1. AV/MV
2. Granada
3. Livermore
4. DV
5. Dublin

Thoughts....?

MSHNASTY....Lots of food for thought...But I can't see DLS in this league or any other league in the area...All their victories speak for them selves.....The way you have listed the teams I think works, but I think Monte Vista should be in the A league and Amador Valley in the b league...Livermore has had a rough time over the last several years as they are in the old part of Livermore....there are new homes springing up that may change the cowboy's future, but they are still down the road...Dougherty Valley and Dublin are only going to get stronger as time goes by and Monte Vista will start a turn around as every school has its ups and downs....As for DLS...leave them independent and if the EBAL teams want to schedule them, then let it be......

Should be EBAL A and EBAL B with one rotating inter conference game and the rest non league. The more cpmpetitive the games, the more people want to play, the more people want to support the team, the more money the school can earn in concessions and gate.

BD2- DLS is in EBAL 100% but they have restrictions. They our automatically given EBAL birth from NCS like they have last few years. Not eligible for league title but players get all league. Teams in league can opt out of games vs DLS. The West Alameda County league has Similar 12 team set up with a 2 year cycle where the bottom team from A goes to B, and Top team B moves up to A. Example, last year Tennyson moved from up and Hayward moved down. I agree Amador starts in B.

TV - the teams could still play each other from A to B but it wouldn't count as league game.

Huh! DLS gets an automatic EBAL birth - to playoffs? They can'not win league? The other league teams
can opt put of playing DLS? What kind of BS is this?

Frankly DLS should be thrown into the WCAL with all the rest of the private schools.

Would you rather see DLS having to play a 7 game EBAL schedule? Or allow them flexibility to put together a schedule like they have for the coming season?

At this point the only two EBAL teams I care to see DLS play are SRV and Cal who are consistently the best two squads in the league, with an occasional team like this past Foothill team jumping into the fray.

I have no problem with DLS getting an automatic NCS bid. They rarely lose a game much less to a nor cal team. What are the chances they will ever not make NCS playoffs outright?

Ditto that...

Now there's a new thought...........

By the way any word from the U S Patent Office on your reinvention of the wheel, yet?

Livermore and Granada are 9-114 against all the other EBAL teams and 5-1 against the new guys.

DV
Dublin
Granada
Livermore
Amador

Will make a competitve league. Some good interconference games to have.

Foothill vs Amador (The Pleasanton Bowl)
Cal High vs. DV (The San Ramon Bowl). Maybe they will shut down the city for this one;).
Dublin vs. MV
Livermore vs. MV - MV twice because they need a breather after playing all those EBAL Teams.

TV- I like the idea of playing teams from the other side of A vs B in week 6. Example MV plays Dublin and Amador vs Foothill. That way the teams only have to look for games weeks 0-5 like the BVAL does and the Bay Shore league. Finding games would be easy and allow teams to schedule more than 1 or 2 non-leaguers a year
