Wildcat stadium is ready for action, every thing is in except for some last minute details..Again, for home games, get there early as the parking lot will be limited, you can park on Marshall Dr. or Hume way at the Dollar store or a long walk from the parking lot at Cosco...

GUYS....Wood does not have a killer preseason schedule for 2018, but they open at home against Vintage on 8-17 who is coming on at 7:30 P.M.
8-24.....Clovis West on the road at 7 p.M.
8-31.....Deer Valley at Home at 7 P.M. could be dangerous this year, a real good test.
9-07.....American Canyon at Home 7:30 P.M. another test, the key to Wood is coming up with a strong QB..
9-14.....bye
9-21.....Woodland at Home 7:15 P.M.

Very soft but they have been more concerned with getting wins to be eligible for playoffs. Unless they get several transfers not much to look forward to, from what I have seen the last few years.

Pain'smy Game.....Wood had a couple of speedsters and a very good QB, but all that is gone, transfers may be the key too what looks like a so-so season...But maybe, some one will come out of the woodwork and change things...

Guys...Took a look at Vintage which is one of the first preseason games that Wood will meet.
And Vintage went 3-1 in league play and 7-3 over all, they managed to reach the first playoff game against a tough Inderkum and went down 35-24, they also lost to Wood 24-21 and Vanden 14-0.
The Vintage preseason is not against weenies, they open against Wood and I'm waiting to see what Wood has to offer.
8-17.....Wood away 7 P.M. at the new wildcat Statium
8-24.....Acalanes home at Memorial Statium Napa....The Don's have a up and coming QB which can run and pass from the JV's...
8-31.....Lincoln of Stockton away......vintage stopped Lincoln of Stockton last year 24-21..
9-07.....Bellarmine Home at memorial Statium in Napa...this is the big test for the Crushers and a major step forward
.

It has not really received much attention, but the SJS playoff selection criteria has changed significantly from last season. Win totals are not a factor. The revised factors in playoff eligibility and placement are: 1) League division, 2) CBEDs, 3) same 'prior results' criteria, and - wait for it - 4) Calpreps rankings. Gone are the previous criteria of win totals, and the extra automatic qualifiers such as being in the SFL or Delta. Only league champs are guaranteed a spot (and that spot is in their league division or higher). It is a lot more complicated to figure out than previously, but rewards teams for 'good losses' to highly ranked teams. It should make scheduling easier since teams don't have to schedule down to get to 6 wins as in the previous system.

Question : How will Deer Valley be this year? Clovis Wets.....really surprised on that one...how will Clovis West be this Year...I like the series with American Canyon...they & Vintage look like top teams in Napa County (those two may battle it out for their new league in their new section...Woodland may be a year away with their Double Wing...i guess it will be own in the trenches...Coach Chris Smith returns to Vacaville after having successful years at Vacaville Christian...he may do well with Woodland against Wood since he may have the numbers there and he is going on his 3rd year at Woodland...Vintage vs Bellarmine...whoah...totally shocked on that one...vs Acalanes? May be a shoot out on Acalanes side how is Vintage's Secondary?

NCSFOOTBALL.....Deer Valley has a returning QB and a fair sized line with a couple of biggies in the middle and some speed....They could very well be on the rebound and Wood will have a rough time with them.......Clovis West had a solid team last year and went 9-3 with a big win of 42-12 over Rocklin, but loosing to Buchanan 30-28 in the playoff's, but the golden Eagles will be hit hard by graduation, so it might be a close game....meeting American Canyon and Vintage will severally test the Wildcats.

Bluedog2, yep the series with AC & Vintage vs. Wood has always been a battle..no one dominates in those series. Glad they kept it going
