WCAL playoffs begin next week.

It will not be a major shock if Serra does not win the WCAL playoffs. The league's other top three units, VC and SI in particular, are fully capable of denying the Padres an outright crown.

The WCAL Baseball Tournament starts this week. First round is Tuesday May 13th, Semifinals Wednesday May 14th and Finals Thursday May 15th. All games are at the higher seeded school and all games start at 4pm. Below are the seeding brackets.

The WCAL tournament outcome was about what was expected. #1 Serra beats #8 Riordan 3-0. #2 Valley Christian wins over Sacred Heart Cathedral 2-1 and #3 St. Ignatius beats Mitty 9-1. In a minor upset, #4 St. Francis loses to #5 Bellarmine.

Today, the WCAL winners are back at it again for the semi-finals

Serra should move to the final round.

The SI vs VC game is a toss up IMO. SI is strong right now while VC seems a bit lackluster at season end.

The WCAL tournament outcome had some upsets. #1 Serra loses to #8 Riordan 3-0. And in a less significent upset, #4 St. Francis loses to #5 Bellarmine. #2 Valley Christian wins over Sarad Heart Cathedral 2-1 and #3 St. Ignatius beats Mitty 9-1. SI appears to be the most dominent at this time.
