Just out of curiosity does anyone know of WCAL players with offers besides the obvious Johnson to Texas? I know there has to be some, but for some reason it was pretty quiet this summer as far as offers go. Feel free to chime in!

I did a quick Rivals search and there's a few offers out there -

Bellarmine
Kyle Macauley - Offer from Columbia

Mitty
Matt Tofano - Offers from Columbia, Navy

Sacred Heart Cathedral
Keith Ismael - Offers from Air Force, Army, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, Hawaii, Montana, San Diego State, San Jose State, UC Davis, Utah State
Jamar Williams-Sheppard - Offers from San Jose State, UC Davis

Valley Christian
Collin Johnson - Texas (Commited)
Akil Jones - Colorado (Committed)
Morian Walker - Offer from Wyoming
Cameron Woodard - Offers from San Diego State, San Jose State

There's a total of 18 WCAL players listed, and a few have schools listed with "Interest" but no offer extended (or at least not updated yet). Johnson(4*), Jones(3*), Walker(3*) from Valley Christian are the only "starred" players on the list.

Thank you! I appreciate it. Why is it that Serra is not getting any of those big guys offers? I see alot of talent over there!

What does "Offer" mean in this question. I ask because I usually associate an offer to an athletic scholarship as opposed to an invite to play at the school. In that case Schools like Columbia, Navy/Air Force/Army do not offer athletic scholarships.

"Offer" just means that on the Rivals site, in the column that says "Offer", they have a little checkmark. For the non-scholarship schools I assume it just means the school is offering admission if they agree to play football, even though no scholarship money will be provided.

For some schools that are difficult to get accepted into, like the Ivy League schools and military acadamies, I think bypassing the normal admission process because you can play football is a pretty good benefit. :)

The term "offer" varies depending on where the info comes from. Some site list verbal offers, other official offers. Many of the kids listed above have official offers (aka: in writing).

Official FBS offers are scholarship. Mil academies are FBS and do scholarships. Many FCS now do scholarships (or. Patriot league). Ivy officials are tied to coveted AI slots.

Where's Jamarian Caston going? He tells everyone that every school in Texas and The SEC is on him. Should be interesting to see where he chooses to go to school.

Academic transcripts and SAT scores have a huge bearing on all of this. Hence the JC route for some kids.
