Thank you. I made the correction.

TJ Wallace (Modesto Christian/Pacific) earned All-WCC preseason honors.

BeyerCoach- Are you from Modesto by chance? Just asking because Pacific has 4 Modesto Christian kids on their roster. May be some bad blood.

Pacific was 4-14 in conference last year, is under a NCAA investigation for academic fraud and impermissible benefits and is holding out 3 players ( don't think any are MC players)

They also struggled to hold off D2 Carroll College the other night.

Don't think this has anything to do with 4 MC players on the roster

I am from Modesto, and that has nothing to do with my opinion on UOP. I watched them twice this summer at scrimmages at MJC and they would be hard pressed to beat Fresno City Junior College, again, in my humble opinion. The MC kids are actually the best players on the team and I am proud of them. No bad blood at all. I am on record in various sources as saying MC joining our league was the best thing for Modesto basketball in a long time. And to clarify, I am the assistant coach....dont want my opinion to be tagged to the head coach :)

Lmao @ BeyerCoach...C'mon coach a "scrimmage" really? It was open gym. No Pacific coaches their coaching, all of the Pacific teams were mixed with various players, NONE of the teams had more than 1 starter on it, some players weren't there do to being back in their native country playing for their national team, best player TJ didn't participate do to a sore back etc etc. UOP is still a young team and really had a chance to surprise some teams this year but their now missing the starting PF, starting 7'0 center and the best 3pt shooter whose usually first to come of the bench, do to this NCAA investigation. It sucks for the kids involved (who had no clue of wrong doing) because the coach that allegedly committed the academic fraud resigned or was let go 2 months ago so it leaves the players to take the fall. So IMO with those 3 missing and a inexperienced head coach, is why they'll end up at the bottom of the WCC, not their talent. They actually have the talent to compete at the top of the conference but unfortunately the coach only knows how to coach the system that's now entering its 28th year. Lol, yeah that's right I said 28th year which obviously means their still playing early 90's basketball. Please don't get me started on that joke of an offense. They play SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW.

ValleyKing, you are definitely entitled to your own opinion and I respect that. Whatever talent you think they have, you had better do more research on the WCC. While I may be off that they will finish last, to say they have the talent to compete at the top of that league is ridiculous, again in my humble opinion....

With the 3 missing players they can Crack the top 5. Top 5 out of 10 is considered "the top" of the conference right? Plus the Zags have an unproven backcourt, BYU still has 1 or 2 key players out on their mission, Saint Mary's lost Waldow and has a inexperienced backcourt. So the "top dogs" of the WCC are beatable this year. Don't be surprised if Pepperdine finish 2nd or 3rd.

Beyer Coach I think you are correct in your prediction about Pacific!! There are plenty local kids here in Norcal and yet they choose not to recruit those players. If you look at their current recruiting class it's no wonder why they will finish last in the WCC.

Yes that's my opinion and unfortunately for me this is a mute discussion because of their current situation with the 3 missing players and a inexperienced coach, therefore my argument could never be proven...Outside of the MC players and a few of the other guards, I agree with you on their recruiting. It's been VERY sub par if that and never understood why they never really recruited local kids.

I think they have been active recruiting the area. You can't just look at commitments. They have done well with their most important HS program (Modesto Christian) and have been involved with other top guys in the area.

I think they are still transitioning to the WCC (this is the third year?) It is a big jump and takes time. Good example is Utah football now and what it was those first few years in the Pac-12.
