We tend to take it for granted now. The long-tenured West Coast Jamboree is simply a regular part of the Bay Area holiday prep sports calendar in 2023. It's well underway as we speak. This year, there are 96 teams, all of them varying in overall strength and competitive lineage, listed in a dozen separate brackets spread over 12 venues. Organizing and presenting this ambitious event (with roughly 1,000 athletes and their coaches), the largest of its kind in the U.S., are daunting tasks indeed. But Clay, Harold and others dedicate themselves to making the games proceed as seamlessly as possible. There are always some glitches along the way. No shock there. But, by and large, the WCJ is a classic in its genre. Congratulations. Again.

It's been a great tournament and always well run, even though there are bound to be hiccups. The vision of Dave and Clay, and now with Kelly on board, the tournament has always fielded teams of all levels. There's always a bracket for EVERY team to play. You don't always see that in even smaller tourney's. Hats off to all of you for putting on a great tourney!

Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated.

It was a good day overall, yesterday, with plenty of close games -- which is what we try to arrange. Had to call an ambulance at Chabot, but otherwise, things went fairly smoothly.

Hopefully things go well for the next two days.
