I keep getting emails asking if the WCJ is back, so I'll post here again. Not many ways to get the word out ...

Is your event a fully vaccinated event?
Mandatory vaccinations for everyone involved?
That's a legitimate and forward-looking question. Who knows what the next few months will bring regarding the pandemic, but WCJ leaders would be wise to consider possible contingencies.

I don't think any high school or high school sporting event can even attempt to determine whether all participants, spectators and staff are fully vaccinated. To require that would essentially cancel all high school activities, including in-person teaching.

You should invest in Covid insurance…
Some kid who’s dad is a good lawyer may own your event next year…

I don't think that it would cancel all high school activities, that's a bit extreme. Now it would present an equity/fairness to sports. Those that have it would be able to play/participate and those who don't wouldn't. Having teams, and parents PCR test 72 hours (like getting into hawaii) and rapid test daily would be a good start but that costs a lot of money and would be too much trouble for tourney organizers (I imagine)

And wouldn't you have to do it for every game? Why would tournaments be any different?

In whatever shape or form, it will be good to have the WCJ back this coming season. Definitely a highight on the girls basketball calendar
