It seems as if Bellarmine has a slightly easier path to future regional state football games based on the current ccs playoff system. But doesn't Serra have enough enrollment to qualify them for CCS div1 to give the bells some competition (if both make future playoffs) or do they only qualify for div 2 which would make it an even more competitive division in years to come. if i had a son that wanted to play football and he was top quality college recruit, maybe i would think of exposure and increase that chances by going to a school that would have a great probability in going to regional/state games.

Serra would have been Div 2. Bells definitely have an easily path to regional games. CCS D1 is by far the weakest division in CCS.

If Serra would have been allowed into the playoffs, they would of been DII this year. Piedmont Hills (DI) would have not made the playoffs, thereby moving Oak Grove and Wilcox to DI.

I never worry about Serra. They have some strong seasons coming up. So do Bellarmine and Valley Christian.

Irish, fans have been touting VC as a projected/potential WCAL league champ the last 4 years & ???. Each year I have predicted lower finishes for the Warrior's and in each case they have accommodated me [making me look smarter than I am :)
Anyway not sure what is going on with the VC program. Of all the CCS teams I saw this year Valley Christian looked the most physically imposing of any and athletically among the most talented. I think its 4 years in a row they've had an outstanding "stable" of thoroughbred RB's that any coach in NorCal would give his right arm for. That being said they keep falling short of expectations losing close games in season and then losing in the earlier rounds of the playoffs. This has become a trend with VC and the main reason I continue to place them at a lower projected postion in my pre-season WCAL projections.

Bell's will be interesting next season losing almost all their skill players. Bell's have been amazing at reloading year to year and keep coming up with one incredible QB talent after the next. Looking forward to thier 2016 roster and what their JV team contributes.

Where do you project the Lancers, Rmb?

VC is such a wild card. When they first entered the WCAL they quickly earned everyone's respect. You're spot on about their athleticism. They have Dana Stubblefield from the 49ers as their lines coach. They've been just a step behind the pack in recent years, but remain formidable.

Its my opinion that the VC HC has lost his fire to be the best of the best. As you mentioned, he has lots of talent on his team but somehow he's not inspiring and motivating his kids like he used to. The program has always been a bit backward, meaning they are better than expected early in the season and then tend to disappoint later in the season. Typically, this slide points to a good S&C program and good talent but inadequate leadership and motivation.

I remember the years before the current HC, VC was at the bottom of the barrel most seasons. Then the program changed with the new HC in 1997, I believe. Every year, the program advanced several notches to becoming the top of the game by 2005. 2002-2005 were VC's glory years. Then the program diminished and plateaued to an above average program but no where near its talent base and former years.

They currently have Ron Stone as their line coach which is hardly a step down from Stubblefield.
