March 3 Scoreboard: Vacaville and Acalanes tied, Palo Alto shuts out Monterey and more

Folsom (2-0) beat McClatchy (0-1) 8-1 behind five innings of three hit ball from sophomore Tyson Dewall. Junior Cooper Robinson pitched the final two innings. Senior Judah Morris had a home run and four RBI and junior Ryan Stafford had two hits. McClatchy sophmore Malcolm Moore had a home run in the loss.

Campolindo (2-0) beat Drake (1-2) 6-1 for its second straight win over a MCAL team. Campolindo sophomore Matt Elliot threw five innings of one run ball. Grant Harper and Ryan O'Neil each had a double for the Cougars, which outhit Drake 8-1. Drake sophomore Jonas Salk had a home run for Drake.

Palo Alto (4-0) shutout Monterey (1-1) 8-0 as sophomore Jack Haight threw a complete game, five-hitter for the Vikings. Palo Alto junior Zander Darby had two doubles and junior Matthew Caren had four RBI. Monterey senior Michael Mugan went 1-for-3 and got the start on the mound (2 IP, 6 H, 6 R).

Vacaville (1-0-1) tied with Acalanes (1-0-1) 4-4 at the Pittsburg Tournament. Acalanes got out to a 4-0 lead by the fourth inning, but Vacaville tied it up in the bottom of the sixth before the game was called after nine innings. Vacaville outhit Acalanes 10-4 while the two teams combined for 32 strikeouts. Acalanes started Michael Castilli and Vacaville started Kyle Bender.

Petaluma (2-0) scored two runs in the top of the seventh to beat Marin Catholic (0-4) 6-5. Petaluma juniors Garett Lewis and Mario Zarco each had two RBI for Petaluma. The Trojans used five pitchers and navigated around 10 walks.
 
Oak Ridge beat Newman 3-0 behind a gem from Carter Delaney. Buddy said he had a perfect game going into the 5th. This next couple years OR is absolutely loaded. The group of soph-seniors has dominated baseball from a young age. SFL between Folsom, OR, and Rocklin is scary good.
