Congrats to all. I want to say Vaughn was highest pick ever out of Santa Rosa. Looks like a $7M payday coming for him.

Jose Abreu is a free agent next year, and I think the White Sox have the mindset that he could be a cheaper replacement.

Excited to see what Vaughn does as his college career was one of the best ever put together by a college player.

I think he'll sign for a touch under the 7 mil...maybe 6.5 or so....

Definitely the highest ever draft choice for a Santa Rosa kid, and Sonoma County as well. I believe Brandon Morrow is the only other SoCo kid ever drafted 1st round. Spencer Torkelson may well be higher by this time next year.

Very happy for Andrew Vaughn and his family. My son was a HS teammate of his. He was special in HS but really developed a huge, huge amount since then. As an O's fan I was happy for Andrew that the rumors of the O's taking him #1 overall were unfounded. They are terrible. But the CWS are on the cusp of being a good right now, and even though the farm system is very good, he should cut through it like butter and be in the bigs within 2 years on a winning team.
