I arrived with 6 minutes to in the El Cerrito game... The Gaucho were trailing Benicia by 10 and Benecua scored again, but then EC made a huge comeback to win by 5 in regulation... Not the prettiest game by any stretch, but good competition anyway.

In the first game of the day. Burbank beat Center by something like 63-54.

Now we’re on to the West Campus v Damone Ranch from the Reno area... Not unsurprisingly, Damonte has the name of a casino sponsor on its warmups...

The Nevada guest is 7-11 thus far, and West Campus is 15-5. I notice that West Campus has a 6-4 guy, their biggest man... A freshman.

Halftime... 32-27 west Campus. Highlight play came from Damonte Ranch, though... #4 sank a half court bomb to end the first q.

Now we have 15-6 Inderkum vs. 8-12 Capital Christian... That record may look bad, but CC has played a real man-sized schedule...

Inderkum is a new team for me... Never seen them, ever.

According to the rankings, this should be a good one... rankings are #23 and # 24.

Capital is pretty much dominating right now... 29-18 with 5 minutes left on the half.

46-22 CC large and in charge at the half.

Just looked at the roster.... CC is very young. I think only one senior in the rotation, just one more on the roster.

68-40, 2 min left 3rd... and that’s after 3 buckets off steals of lazy CC passes.

So now we have 14-5 Liberty of Brentwood v 15-7 Oak Ridge. Looks like OR has played a clearly tougher schedule...

22-17 OR after 1... looked at first like Liberty was gonna run off with it, but OR turned that right around.

35-31 Liberty at the half in a game of runs.... first one side would get 6 or 8 straight, then the other... Not much 1-1 bucket trading..

Continuing the big-run pattern.... Liberty opens the 3rd with 8 straight, but OR comes back with a run of their own to get back within 6 before Liberty spurts away again... quarter ends 54-43 Liberty.

Looks like Liberty’s gonna hold ‘em off... the scoring runs have disappeared for both teams. 73-60 with 1:48 left.

74-60 final, Liberty wins... Now we have 11-7 St Pat- St Vincent and 14-6 Woodcreek.

Jackson leads SPSV with 10, and Gheintor and Lattimore have 8 each for Woodcreek.

Very few fouls called in the first half... I didn’t see anyone in the book with more than one.

48-47 SPSV. After 3... kinda slow-paced halfcourt chess match , but now the 3’s are starting to fall for both teams...

Son as I said that about the pace, SOSV went to a man defense and zone three-quarter court press... 54-52 SPSV with 5:40 left

But they fail to score... neither canSPSV... same score, 33 secs left. Edwards at the line for SPSV... both good. Time out, 66-61.

Pleasant Valley of Chico, state champs last year, are 16-4. They face Sacramento, 12-6. Looking forward to this...

18-14 Sacramento after 1... PV is going to have to adjust to Sac’s speedy guards... turn and run earlier or something...

PV. Hanging in there, but can’t make a dent in Sac’s lead. 56-42 with 1:09 left 3rd.
