Whitney outscored CO 17-6 in Q4 for a 47-43 win over Cosumnes Oaks in sweeping regular season series.

Whitney is a good team ... really only bad loss, by three to a decent Granite Bay team at Granite Bay.

Whitney is having a great year and is capable of making a nice run in SJS D2 playoffs. The CVC having a nice competitive battle with Whitney, Antelope and Cosumnes Oaks. CO starting point guard Jasmine Hess broke her finger in their win vs Antelope and didn't play vs Whitney, this could have definitely made a difference. Whitney is a well balanced and young team (only senior starter is point guard McCarrick) and I really am impressed with their junior guard Jada Lewis. Too bad because these 3 teams will each be in different leagues next year, only Antelope staying in CVC. Whitney and Antelope play next Friday night, the winner most likely will win the league. Good luck to these 3 in finishing the CVC strong, hopefully Hess returns soon.

Those schools are ones that could really benefit from the new NorCal system. If one of them somehow drops to Division III, they could do pretty well.

Of course, it could work the other way too -- Division I might prove very challenging.

Don't forget about Roseville. They are very solid team with Arianna McCurry who's going to Rice University next year.
