W.C. Wood picked up where they left off last season by knocking off Alhambra for the second time in a scrimmage and it was pretty much one sided....Alhambra started off sloppy while the wildcats went right to work with a 34 yard run and a 60 yard pass play in the first play period. QB Daymn Bialock started the Bulldogs off with three dropped passes to his recievers and he was pulled as nothing was going right and was followed up by Hearn who seemed to get the Bulldogs rolling, only to have a dropped pass and crippling penalities that killed what might have been a scoring drive.
There were four 15 minute running clock periods and Alhambra could not get any thing going, but while Blalock and Hearn had good protection on the pass plays, nothing was working....While Wood had several drives that stalled, one on a interception and the others on penalities.
Alhambra once again faces the same problems as in the past, poor pass defense, untimely penalities, dropped passes....There were a few times that the Bulldog defense had the Wood QB on the run, but he got out of trouble a couple of times
For the Stats, Wood passed for 227 yards on 27 attempts, with passes of 60,25,20,39 and 22 and on the ground, the wildcats ran 12 times for 112 yards which included a 34 yard gallop, Wood racked up 12 first downs had one interception and was penalized six times for 40 yard and punted twice.
For Alhambra, it was 11 attempts for 13 yard passing, 82 yards on the ground at 16 tries. only three first downs fumbled twice and intercepted once plus they punted four times and six penalties for 35 yards.
W.c. Wood....14.....00.....07.....07.....28

On all punts and Kickoff's there were no returns as the ball was marked dead at the catch and that's where the offence began....Next Friday night, Wood takes on Concord while Alhambra hosts... Acalanes

This was just a scrimmage, but it also tells of things to come, a very poor performance, on paper, Alhambra looks good, but on the field, it was not the case...The Bulldog JV's looked sharp and every one on the field looked like they knew what they were doing, also a lot of speed....There are predictions that Alhambra is the leading contender for the DAL Foothill conference, but that may have to be revalued, now Wood came to play and wasted no time getting on the board, so the Alhambra-Acalanes game will tell the real story.
