with all do respect, cool fantasy bro now lets get back to reality. forget the outliers and tell me the truth about the THOUSANDS literally or more kids who just end up getting scammed, dropping out of school, and not getting an education after getting scammed by prep "schools" again im not saying that prolific is necessarily doing this. i dont know enough about their spacific program. but the reality is that across this space, the NORM is scamming so the industry needs to go. our kids future is at steak.
who are the thousands you spake of?

WCAL 2024-25 SEASON

I couldn't agree more on your suggestion to swap places with SI and Riordan. 😂
Are we completely ignoring the San Ramon Valley game for SI? Soquel played with the Wolfpack right down to the wire. Are the top Gabilan teams now better than half of the WCAL?

SRV, St. Bonaventure, and Cathedral Catholic may all be similar squads at this point. Yes, Riordan could end up playing in a number of 'track-meet' games, but I find it bizarre that multiple people seem to be so impressed with the Wildcats beating Tamalpais.

NCS Open..

I have questions...

How many teams make it to the Open?

4? 6? 8?

And is it like basketball where if u make the Open u automatically make it to Norcals?

If not automatically make it..how many do?
Winner only? Top2 only? Top 4?

Please only reply if u have the definite answer thanks

WCAL 2024-25 SEASON

the season is a quarter of the way done already, in my imo at some point the "d1 potential" has to start being actualized, otherwise we will have to accept riordan for what they are. which is above average but nothing greater than that. for me we shouldve seen it materialize last week thats why i moved them down. other teams are getting better, riordan has been stagnant since spring ball. hopefully they tighten it up and get better but time will tell. i know its a bit controversial but i'm just calling it like i see it.
The season is actually 20% done.

SI hasn't done anything to suggest they are better than AR right now. They lost to a good SRV 28-10 and won a give me game against Tamalpais 35-6. AR, on the other hand, beat (scraped by) Mack who might be better than predicted and lost to a always pretty good St. Bonny by single digits.

So far, I don't see anything yet to suggest SI is better than AR this year. This week's games might show something different.

SFL Update

this may be a bit controversial so i hope i dont get banned but the truth is that the sfl is WAY down this year. that being said as of now heres how the league looks to me in my imo:

folsom (obviously)
rocklin (only other decent team)
oak ridge (taylor is best coach in league, once he figures it out they will be ok)
granite bay (they look a little bit better than del oro right now and have more coaching stability)
del oro (unorganized mess right now. can't even compete with placer)
jesuit (have played nobody yet and are playing in a real league for the first time. expect growing pains but they will be good in a few years)

not even bothering to list davis or whitney as they are not real teams. they belong in the metro or some other bum league.

pretty sure that's how the order is going to shake out, barring any injuries.

SFL Update

A few notes after 3 games for most teams.
Oak Ridge's loss of their line has really showed. The team is off to 0-3 start after front loading a tough pre -season schedule. Too lazy to look it up but off top of my head I don't recall OR going 0-3 in a very long time. Mccallie out of TN was just too much for the Trojans. The score ended up 38-16 but it was 38-0 at half and a running clock in the 3rd. They called of their dogs early. OR was without there starting QB but I really don't think it mattered in this game. I do look for the Trojans to bounce back and get a win vs a very down DO team. But overall for the trojans to win 5 games this year that would be best case.

Jesuit- Might be the Suprise team in the mix this year at 2-0 with some blowouts against Rio and Bellarmine. Hard to tell how good jesuit is but they have a big line and has been able to run behind it well. They will likely go into their first home league game 3-0 when they face granite bay on 09-20.

Del Oro Very down year. Will be in the lower tier of the SFL. I could see a 5th place finish.

Granite Bay- Hasn't played a great schedule and is 3-0. They look solid but again its hard to really gauge. They seem like a middle of pack SFL.

Rocklin- They look very solid. Got another year behind Slone and just don't have many weaknesses. However, I don't think as good as last year but are now 3-0 and will go into game 4 against Folsom in 2w which is likely the SFL champ. Rocklin has a history of playing Folsom very well. I don't see this changing. Can they beat Folsom without the transfers?

Folsom- Still the team to beat and come end of year I think they will be in the mix.

SFL (my prediction)
Folsom
Rocklin
Jesuit
GraniteBay
Oak Ridge
DO
Davis
Whitney

WCAL 2024-25 SEASON

Hate to 😂at BCP's expense but you are right.

On a personal note, I kept AR above SI just because of their D1-laden potential. This week's game will be very important for both teams. Pitts seems a lot better than Cathedral but a win or close loss by either AR or SI will tell us a lot.

And on another personal note, you should be banned for repeating the " I hope I don't get banned for this but..." mantra. 🤣

Everyone has their opinion and there is nothing wrong with speaking your mind. But I just state facts.

I love JUCO ball but you cannot say it’s superior to prep ball without stating recent facts. I am going to ask how many kids from Norcal JUCO went D1 last year ? I honestly do not know the answer to that but am sure someone on this message board will know that answer.

GSP (post grad prep) here in NorCal sent 6 D1 last year Alone and another 6+ to various levels. That is one program alone. However I know JUCO is absolutely valuable because everyone runs their race at various timelines. This past year we have sent at least 3 of our kids to local jucos because that was their timeline. There is absolutely Nothing wrong with GSP making local juco a ball better as well. It is a win win.

This season GSP will have one of the top post grad squads in the USA. A great program to watch high level talent especially their big men this year. All of these kids are also 18 years of age which is younger than JUCO so hard to compare them against one another. Both have value for various timelines.

As for your argument about which is better high school or prep schools. It all depends on the individual situation. If you are a PRO you are a PRO. But if you are a fringe guy then one over the other does matter. If you don’t want to sit out half the season cause of CIF rules, than one has more value over the other. Preps aren’t going away so don’t know why people still talking so much trash. They are just going to be growing in popularity.

NCP Pick'em Week 3 Games

For me personally VC and DO are huge disappointments this year. No wonder DO dropped SF. And although Salinas deserved the win on the hill, VC continues to be a faint shadow of its former self.
Salinas Cowboys are pretty good. There was question mark on QB (he looked good) but it was pretty much a reload year with a D1 WR/Safety and two very good RBs and bigger line. Salinas is maybe the top public school in CCS. VC does seem to be lower second tier in the WCAL or middle of the pack below where it used to be.

New Offers

anytime an athlete has an opportunity to play past high school is a reason to celebrate. playing good enough to play past high school is an accomplishment.. obviously there are levels to it, but why hate on someone's level?

if an aau team can tout their development acuity... move their athletes past high school... what's wrong with that?

if an athlete can announce that they are playing bkb somewhere, what's wrong with that?

you view it as a negative.. it's a positive for a lot of athletes. no need to hate.
It's not hate. I'm just sick of the everyone gets a medal mentality. Never, until recently, did I need my ego-fed kids and parents of today to post about a PRE-SEASON "offer" from a JC. The neat thing about CC is that ANYONE can play as long as they have eligibility (never played the sport before). Some JC's have what they call Letters of Intent which they have kids sign. This is illegal and yet kids think it's binding. And the reason why I'm asking about AAU programs is that AAU (as it's supposed to be) is not a breeding ground for JC's. It's purpose is to get kids to the 4-year level by exposure.

Next, we're gonna have middle school kids posting where they're going to go to high school or elementary kids saying they're going to middle school at XYZ school. It's ridiculous. Call it hate, but at what point does it ever end? I'm a JC and pubic university bi-product..

WCAL 2024-25 SEASON

your ranking seems pretty solid, i hope i don't get banned for this but personally i would swap SI and riordan based on there performance but they are super close so no objection on your list. this week will shed more light.

also, i would consider moving bellarmine down if i were you. i know there are only 8 teams in the league but the way there playing they should be 9th or 10th in a 8 team league lol their that bad.

WCAL 2024-25 SEASON

What's going on at Bellarmine?
Ive seen almost a handful of decades of WCAL play across all the sports and a good portion of that always had Bellarmine collecting trophies whether it was football, basketball, soccer, wrestling, track, etc. They always were able to have championship-level teams every year in all the sports. That is an athletic program's dream. Take for example the city schools where one school is really good at one or two sports and forget about the rest.

One can wonder if Bellarmine would ever fall off in a sport where they've dominated for decades and here we are today. No longer are the Bells in the conversation in contending for WCAL football crown. That honor is between Serra and St. Francis now. What is shocking is they have dropped to the very bottom which is usually the place where my school is. I guess its nice to not considered the cellar dweller anymore.

WCAL 2024-25 SEASON

Week 2 WCAL Ranking based on 2 games
1. Serra (Good but clear weaknesses exposed by DLS)
2. St. Francis (Better than expected, but DLS will shed more light next week)
3. Riordan (D1 laden team still coalescing, but will they improve enough to compete with Pittsburg next week?)
4. St. Ignatius (Monster game coming up next week with Cathedral in San Diego)
5. Mitty (Might be better than expected, next week's game with M-A will tell more)
6. Valley Christian (Struggling with their old fashioned offense; Next week's game with Soquel will be an important barometer game)
7. Sacred Heart Cathedral (Next week's game with Wilcox will tell us more)
8. Bellarmine (Just plain struggling this year)
your ranking seems pretty solid, i hope i don't get banned for this but personally i would swap SI and riordan based on there performance but they are super close so no objection on your list. this week will shed more light.

WCAL 2024-25 SEASON

Me thinks the WCAL is a bit down this year if I’m being completely honest.

8. Bellarmine. Unless thing change over the next 2 months, Coach Diaz-Infante is heading for a second round knockout if you ask me. It’s one thing to go from the Penthouse to the outhouse but these guys are now getting spanked by middle of the road PAL teams.

7. Sacred Heart Cathedral. I think story time will be coming to an end real soon here. They’ve played nobody this far with Wilcox on deck and Riordan in the hole. I don’t see thing going too good for the Irish until they see Bellarmine in the 2nd Annual “Toilet Bowl”.

6. Valley Christian. Word is VC does not have a QB in the program and I believe it after seeing the shot-putter they started last season. Outside of Champ, they really don’t have much.

5. Mitty. I think this is a the floor for the Monarchs who, in my opinion, are one of the best coached teams in the WCAL. They don’t have the talent of others but they’re well coached and that overcompensates for a lot.

4. St. Ignatius. Again, another low ranking for a team who I believe may ultimately be better than the team they’ve fielded. They got clapped by a legit SRV team and walked over a team they had no business scheduling in Tamalpais outside of appealing to the 50% of their student body who lives in Marin. However, they have a ton of Southern California talent waiting on the suspension list from what I’ve been told so this is subject to change.

2B. Riordan. They need to fix their defense and fast but the Crusaders can score and have an OL that can go with 99% of teams in the state. That alone is a reason to not overlook them.

2A. I give Serra a slight edge over Riordan because they won their last head to head match but truth be told, the football math isn’t adding up. The feather in Serra’s hat is that they beat Folsom, a team who needed all 48 minutes of the SBG to beat the same St. Bonaventure team that Riordan was walking down and teeing off on in the 12th round after being severely behind on the cards. And say what you want about Riordan squeaking one out against McClymonds but this is the same Mack team who lost by 21 to a De La Salle team who just beat Serra by 29 who now has a legit dual threat QB. What I'm saying is it will be a game for those who are already handing Serra the crown.

1. St. Francis. They’ve been dominant in both wins thus far and believe they are a lock to be one of the top 2 teams in league. I’ll be curious to see how Riordan and Serra perform against them and also believe SI could give them a game once their 4-Star Nose Tackle is cleared but for now, they are the clear #1.
