Former Bay Area prep star, baseball HoF ballot, CC Sabathia

Saw him at the Celebrity tournament in Tahoe. While some guys tried to avoid the kids seeking autographs he was really accommodating and took time to talk to my grandsons and take pictures with them.
Two CC stories that I love from his career:

I think I have the details right, but late in one season with the Yankees, he was on track to hit an incetentive, but he hit a batter for the Rays to protect his teammates and got thrown out before hitting his incentive.

The other was the way he kept taking the ball for the Brewers down the stretch to get them into the playoffs despite heading into free agency.

Gamer and all around good guy from what I can tell, Hope he makes it in.
CC gets in on 1st attempt. Congrats out to CC. A funny CC story as well: I was in Tahoe at Celeb golf event a few years back, my daughter is having lunch and CC walks by, sits down next to her and asks her if he can have a few fries with reply "sure" He has a few, gets up and heads on to next tee box.

Granite Bay 2026 RB Isaiah Ene has committed to Sacramento State

It’s going to stick. His (and many local players) personal trainer is now on the staff at sac state - Lem Adams. This guys trains many kids that end up playing D1 and is very dialed in to the local hs football scene. Whoever at Sac State hired him he should get a raise because his local recruiting capabilities are big.
I have some history with Lem and he is as advertised. Biggest thing about him that I have always appreciated is he does not try to pull kids away from events and training with their respective schools. That was a huge thing in my opinion. He will help Sac St significantly.

A Few Key Games Tonight

Mitty at Riordan
Mitty finds itself in an unfamiliar position, riding a two game losing streak (albeit to two nationally-ranked teams). And tonight it faces what may be its toughest test in the WCAL in Archbishop Riordan. Riordan comes in at 11-4. It plays solid defense and has the size and ballhandling to give Mitty a game if things break right for them.

Carondelet at Dublin
C-Let is 14-4 after holding off a valiant comeback effort to top Salesian 64-63 last night. Dublin is 13-2 against a softer schedule but they draw a nice crowd to their loud gym, and maybe they'll catch C-Let on an off night.

SI at St. Francis
St. Francis has shown glimpses of excellence this season, but needs to win some WCAL games against upper echelon teams. SI has had an up and down year, but hung with Mitty a week ago.
