Sacred Heart Cathedral linebacker Jerry Mixon Jr. (6-foot-2, 220 pounds) has developed into one of the best prospects in NorCal for this coming class. He has good size, is a strong run defender and can make some plays as a pass defender. He was also a threat as a pass catcher out of the backfield. Mixon was co-utility player of the year in the WCAL this past fall. He has been offered by Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, UCLA, San Jose State, Nevada, San Diego State and UNLV.

Hands down the top prospect in NorCal and the best Mixon to come out of high school in the past 25 years. And it's not even close.

This upcoming season for Jerry Mixon has got to be SH's first legitimate shot at WCAL POY. We can already pencil him down as the league's top LB, but what he does on offense is TBD. There is a chance he might be the starting QB.

When I saw him play, I thought he was the real deal on their defense. Big, strong, athletic and physical player.

Mixon's ability to be a stud on defense is a product of having a sturdy defensive line led by Bahlibi and Reagans, having a swiss-army knife defender in Upressa, and Miller in centerfield. Collectively they all elevated each other. Those are some big shoes to fill for the upcoming season.
