San Mateo dominated Burlingame, 35-10, Saturday in the 97th Little Big Game. The 25-point margin was San Mateo's largest since 1985. The Bearcats, 8-2, used a physical rushing attack to wear down the Panthers, 6-4, on the losers' field. The visitors attempted one pass; it was incomplete. Burlingame still leads in the ancient series between Peninsula Athletic League neighbors, 59-34-4.Both teams are projected to be participants in the upcoming Central Coast Section playoffs.

It should be noted that San Mateo's powerhouse senior RB Emmanuel Fitzgerald, a 6-2, 225-pound man-child in pads, rumbled for 247 rushing yards and three touchdowns vs. the Panthers. He ran through, over and around the Burlingame defenders much of the day. There was no answer for him. Up next for SM and Fitzgerald: Carmel in CCS playoffs.
