They are using some rules for placement that I don't see in the CCS Baseball Bylaws. The above seems like a better placement than the rules for seeding playoff points found in the CCS bylaws. One factor might be games against B or C teams that I did not consider since the majority of games were within the teams' own league classification. Still, the big point gainer was being league champ of their A league.

The CCS baseball brackets announced Monday show five WCAL teams in Division I, with Bellarmine as the No.6 seed. So, apparently, the WCAL tourney did have a bearing on the seeding process. Here is the DI bracket:
1. Serra; 2. Valley Christian; 3. Los Gatos; 4. St. Ignatius; 5. St. Francis; 6. Bellarmine; 7. Soquel; 8. Palma.

I did a little deeper dive into the the CCS point system for seeding. The calculations do not match the end seeding used for the brackets. I did see this note in the CCS bylaws about the point system,. "The following objective criteria [CCS Point-System] will be objectively used for At-Large team selections and as a subjective tool for seeding the tournament."

So it will be used to select the "At-Large" teams but will be just a subjective guide for seed placement.

In another place, the bylaws state : "1. All six (6) divisions shall be subjectively selected and seeded by the CCS Selection & Seeding Committee in a closed meeting. Each basic league will have one vote. Teams will be selected and seeded in a closed meeting consisting of one representative from each basic league."

So, there seems to be no objective system for seeding. I will continue to look for one.
