The early returns are telling for sports enterprises, whether amateur or professional. Here's the take-away in the wake of what's happening in Major League Baseball: Without a protective, anti-virus bubble (league-wide quarantine), ballgames go on life support. Pro hockey and basketball, among others, have chosen the bubble and, so far, the indications are positive. There's a lesson for all of us there.

Without a solid vaccine by the end of year, winter sports will be cancelled or pushed back to the spring. It’s the prudent thing to do. I don’t discount the teams wanting to start practicing in December but with out a vaccine I would not advise it. The risk to kids( although they are not a high risk group themselves), parents and Grandparents demand it. These are strange times but I would rather miss a year of sports if this risk a life.

Folks, I would give up Golf, Bourbon & Cigars for 2 years to see the boys play a season this year!! I just pray every night we get a safe environment and they get to finish the season in California. Not just one league.....EVERYONE!!
