Not a very good Monday for the 49ers.

Frank Gore to sign with the Eagles or Baltimore
Mike Lupati to sign with the ARZ Cardinals

Justin Smith to retire
Patrick Willis to retire

Baalke trying to deny Kaepernick trade rumors.....

******************
The Ravens Torrey Smith due to sign with SF 49ers and they just signed a guy out of football with a criminal record. (again)

Jed, in Cuba, did not know Baalke signed the guy.

Bruce Miller

Someone in Ann Arbor is looking at that mushroom cloud coming from Santa Clara and not having any regrets!

But they did sign that rugby guy.

How the in the world has Trent Baalke not been fired yet!????????

The word I overheard in the Happy Donut Shop on Ellis St in the Tenderloin was something about a goat, Sourdough Sam and naked pictures..................but I'm not sure what that all portends........

Balke is a complete idiot. Niners are going down the tubes really fast. I would say trade Kaepernick for draft picks, tank the season, get better draft picks, fire Balke and then bring in Cowher or Gruden, give them complete control and start over.

The biggest problem is the York family. Ever since they took over from Eddie Debartolo, they have been a joke as owners. It looks like Jed York has accomplished NOTHING in his life on his own, yet they name him team owner..

You mean Riverboat Eddie, the convicted felon, disgraced from the NFL?

the man who brought you free agency....

The Titanic didn't sink this fast, more rumors are coming in..... Bowman could be cut too! Are these the 76ers or the 49ers?

... and five Superbowl rings.

I thought we could all agree on this one. Are you really saying you believe there should be no free agency in pro sports?

The worst part about all of this is that Jed York fell for Baalke's sales pitch. Baalke campaigned to get Harbaugh out. He won. Now ole Jed is stuck with "arrogant as ever" Baalke who could care less about the 49ers. He thinks all teams should mirror the 87 NY Giants. Wonder why we haven't had an offense in years?

If you don't know about Baalke, you should read up on him. Bill Parcells was his mentor. He adores Bill Parcells. He tried to bring Parcells to the 49ers prior to Harbaugh. Can you imagine that fiasco!?

Now, it is the tweedle dee and tweedle dum show. What have you done to my 49ers!??????

It was York who really wanted Harbaugh gone, not Baalke. Baalke and Harbaugh had their issues with each other, but York couldn't take the fact that Harbaugh saw him for what he is and probably called him out on it. York was the one who selectively had these "reports" leaked to the press every week. Good owners let their coaches do the coaching.

And this is the make or break year for Baalke, to see if his draft picks can replace what is going out the door. Otherwise he will be joining them after next season.

On the bright side, ticket prices may be falling at Levi's soon.

The rift existed between Baalke and Harbaugh, not York. York decided to side with Baalke in the end and this is the end result. Baalke has an ego the size of the planet earth. Harbaugh didn't like Baalke's approach to the game, and vice versa. They also had a gigantic personality conflict.

York got suckered into Baalke's sales pitch about the direction of the 49ers (ousting Harbaugh and going a different direction). York got completely suckered. Now they have a stadium to pay for with tons of pissed off fans. The backlash is going to be very bad.

Bottom line...Baalke see's the 49ers as a job. He is not a legacy from the organization. He is a Bill Parcells bi-product. Based on the events in the last 6 months, he should be fired...on the spot.

FYI- York was in CUBA when they aquired Jerome Simpson. He had no idea of the signing. That should give you an idea of who is driving the bus (Baalke). Yorks speech about winning with class was BS. Jerome Simpson has like 5 arrests in the last few years. He has no clue about what is going on. All he cares about is $$$.

G61 I don't disagree with you. York is dumb rich kid who got an NFL franchise as a graduation present, and Baalke has mucked things up big time, but being a disciple of Bill Parcells is hardly a flaw. Parcells has two SB rings and is a member of the HOF.

No question. I'm just saying if you're going to have a mentor you could do worse than Parcells. David Shula? Dennis Allen? Rich Kotite?

I am not saying Bill Parcells is bad. Although, I am not a fan of him- Anyone remember the NFC title game and the Roger Craig Fumble? Enough said...LOL

But, it is more contrast in styles with Parcells. Baalke has adopted Parcells style and wants to model the 49ers after the late 80s Giants. I sincerely HATE THAT approach. The 49ers are not that, and will never be that. Our offense has been atrocious for the last few years.

Bottom line...Baalke is NOT GOOD for the 49ers. His ego and his style is in direct conflict with that the 49ers are. I know this won't happen, but he needs to be fired and replaced immediately. Jed obviously cannot run an NFL franchise and needs to rely on a competent GM who displays his loyalties to the 49ers and NOT an east coast smash mouth style (Parcells).

Jimmy Graham now in the NFC West!? We are in trouble unless something changes...fast.

Five super bowl rings at the expense of the NFL. Do I like free agemcy...Hell no I don't...That is why I am not a die hard NFL guy anymore. I'll watch college ball....

You feel it is ok for Riverboat Eddie to rise above the law....if he can so can the players and that is exactly what you see....win at any cost....

5 Superbowl rings could have easily been 7 or more, had they not lost some close games in the NFC championship (Roger Craig fumble)?

It was not at the "expense of the NFL."

The 49ers were the BEST TEAM in the NFL for many more years than just 5

You are bundling issues that do not necessarily have any relationship to each other.

Eddie's legal troubles: whatever. Old news and I don't know or care one bit about them. But I'm sure 99.0% of 49er fans would trade Eddie for his sister and niece any day of the week.
Eddie somehow victimizing the rest of the NFL to win 5 championships. LOL. This is news. Last I heard they were earned on the field. Do fill us in, please.
Free agency. You would like to go back to the days when the owners kept all the money and the players made so little that they had to sell used cars in the off-season. I get that; some people pine for the days before women voted too. So go ahead at watch college ball. It's the same thing. For now.

49er ownership is incompetent....always have been.....

they just got REALLY REALLY lucky when they hired Harbaugh.....even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Don't forget all the head coach hiring fiascos prior to Harbaugh.

Yup and if I was another inch taller I'd be 6'2 but I'm not.....

If you think for a minute the other owners liked Eddie spending millions on Steve Young to ride the pine your nuts.

Watch and be loyal to an NFL...Why they change players like you change your underwear.

If you think what Riverboat Eddie was ok, then your as bad as him. I bet you think it's ok to beat your wife, as long as you get due process......lol....see how fast sponsors and thier money walk away....ask Minnesota...

Look at the talent at the positions where the niners lost guys though. Ya they lose a lot of veteran leadership but still a lot of talent on this team. They are also clearing close to $12 mil in cap space with losing Willis and Smith. Looks like they will cut stevie johnson and ahmad brooks and that cap number goes up to over $22 mil. There are still a lot of teams that wish they had the niners roster.

Patrick Willis--Now Borland steps in as the starter. Only started 8 games last year and led the team with 108 tackles. Plus he is on a rookie contract so he is cheap. Pwillis will obviously be missed but this down grade to Borland doesnt look too bad. The worst part about losing Willis is losing his veteran leadership. He has been the heart of that defense for the past 8 years.

Frank Gore--Carlos Hyde looked like a pretty good back. Another player on a cheap rookie contract. In the small sample size we saw from Hyde last year, he was good. No reason he cant duplicate Gores numbers. I get losing Gore sucks because he has been with the team for so long. Losing another veteran leader that has been the heart of the offense for over a decade. But Hyde is a stud. I dont think this is a drop off at all on the field. Plus they are rumored to be looking at some RBs in FA.

Mike Iupati--Iupati is a top Guard in the NFL but he has struggled with injuries. they still have a very good Oline. They have 4 guys that could replace him. For the price tag I dont think this was that bad of a loss. Staley, Looney, Martin, Kilgore, J.Martin, Thomas, and Davis are all talented guys.

Justin Smith--Still not official if he is retiring or not but lets just assume he is because it is looking that way. He is an awesome football player, but they just signed Darnell Dockett.I dont think Dockett is as good as Smith but still a solid signing. I know he is coming off ACL but he is a Dlineman not a RB. They get Glenn Dorsey coming back. Quinton Dial looked good last year. Jerod Eddie was serviceable. Maybe Tank Caradine finally gets on the field. Im sure they will add another guy in FA or in draft. Maybe Lawerence Okoye plays this year. Losing smith sucks but still plenty of good players at the Dline position.

Torrey Smith is a good signing. They finally get a WR that isnt an unproven rookie or a veteran that is in his last years in the NFL. A very good deep ball WR. Didnt have a great season last year but quietly had 11 tds.

For me the worst thing about this niners team is the coaching staff. They went from having arguably the best staff in the NFL to so many question marks. If Harbaugh was still the coach I think there wouldnt be as many question marks with this team. Still the roster has talent they just have to put it all together. Whether you agree with Ballkes philosophy or not he has loaded this team with talented players. Jed York is an idiot. He needs to stay out of all football decisions. I really cant stand listening to him talk. His KNBR interview right after they fired Harbaugh showed how stupid he was.

"I bet you think it's ok to beat your wife, as long as you get due process"

Why are you attacking me personally? F off. F U and F Jed York too. You deserve each other.

WWHS44,
You are an absolute NUTCASE! Wow... That doesn't even deserve a response. You are a bitter old man.

By the way, the 49ers have 5 Super Bowl rings. That can never be taken away. They had some of th best teams and best players in the history of the NFL. It must hurt to have watched greatness.

Ouch

thehookup55,
You COULD argue that this actually may be a positive thing. They cleared a TON of cap room and got rid of some aging talent. Some of those guys they lost were my personal favorites. But, let's face it. They were getting old and getting paid a TON of money. Do I wish they were all coming back? Yes. But in retrospect, I think this may actually be a good thing. We had major cap issues prior to the departure of some of these players. Now, we will be able to go out and sign some decent FA's along with what we pick up in the draft.

What do you think?

BTW- I loved the Torey Smith signing. I have been screaming for a speed, down the field reciever for years now!!
3dsmile.r191677.gif

I gotta disagree regarding Iupati, I think he will prove to be a huge loss. Top priority is to teach Docket the hold technique Justin Smith used to free up Aldon Smith. What's this I hear Bowman may be cut?

Iupati was hurt a ton the last few seasons. He was commanding BIG money. Money the 49ers were not prepared to shell out. Not with his inuuries. He will do well in Arizona I believe.

I don't see them cutting Bowman, although I don't see him in his rehab every day, so I am not sure how that is going. With everything that has happened this week, nothing will surprise me.

My prediction is the 49ers will go hard after rebuilding their offensive line. Jonathan Martin will not cut it. Don't be surprised to see them draft a few OL in the draft. I originally thought reciever, but I think we can see what is going down, especially with the Torey Smith signing.

No question they need to draft OL, especially if they're going to move more toward a passing offense. They suck at pass protection. Hopefully the Torrey Smith signing means they can use their first round for OL and not WR. But they've got big problems at CB as well and the draft is always thin there. The good news is that Baalke's one fairly decent skill is evaluating talent.

I agree. They were near the top in the NFL for sacks given up. Kaepernick was running for his life every game. It still baffles me how people blamed him despite the fact he had zero time whatsoever to do anything. With that said, I still think he needs to improve...and he will.

Major holes at CB. They're defense last year was actually a bright spot as a whole, despite not having Willis or Bowman for most of the season. That is something to build on moving forward for sure.

Like I said the roster has more than enough talent. Will they put it all together and win? IDK. I have zero faith in the coaching staff. But losing the veterans isnt a bad thing because they have young cheap talent ready to step in. It is a lot of the personal favorite players so its going to hurt more.
Iupati is only a bad loss because they dont have a player to step in that is close to his caliber. But he was a top guard in the NFL so that is hard to do. He was demanding big money and the niners have a few guys that can play the position very effectively. Pay him $8 mil a year or go with a younger guy on a rookie contract? They have talent at the position so they just have to put it together.
They cleared up some cap. they need to add guys that can make an impact. They dont need superstars just quality players. CB is a big need. Torrey Smith is a good young deep threat I like it.
I hope they dont waste their first pick on an interior lineman. Especially if they stay at #15. If they go interior OL then they better trade back. Hard to imagine them going OL early in the draft. I think they will draft OL just not that early.
I really like the CB from Mich st. They could still go WR or even DL in the 1st round.

So the 9nrs said they were going to contiune playing guys even thou are had been arrested for DV. That is a fact....My point is how long till sponsors walk bc they dont want to associated with it????

Chack Minnesota......G ,.... you think I'm nuts bc I don't condone the nonsense the 49nr players are doing? yet Baalke says they desrve due process......which I understand but when does it stop???

I agree with you on those points....

We just signed Jerome Simpson. That directly conflicts with Yorks, "we win with class" comment. Jerome Simpson has like 5 arrests in the last few years. Plus, all the stuff with Bruce Miller now.

I hate the stuff going on with 9ers too. We look like the Raiders now. I hate that. Due process is afforded to everyone by law and it is important we don't ever jump to conclusions from things we see from the media. But, as fans, we never want our storied franchise to be seen as it is being seen right now. It is downright embarrassing.

BTW- Folsom Point boat launch was beautiful yesterday! Caught a few fish out on the boat!

Quaffer, was Baalke responsible for drafting the seriously injured at South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore?

Anthony Dixon and Marcus Lattimore were both wasted picks eventually. Both went home to preach the good word.

Baalke is gonna lead the league in other players Praising God and getting up and leaving:
Baalke took over for Scot McCloughan who drafted most of the former studs.Jed takes after his dad. Remember Eddie brought in Joe Thomas and then there were Ken Meyer - Pete McCulley and Fred O'Connor as Eddies Head Coaches. 1977-78-78 - along with canning Monte Clark
Eddie tripped over Bill Walsh at Stanford.

hahaaha, winning with class, as long as Aldon's on the roster.....no reason why you don't sign Jerome Simpson, hey he might have turned a new leaf, isn't this country built on hardwork and 2nd chances.

Niners are still stacked. Kaep, Hyde, Miller, Bolden, Smith, Davis. Solid OLine with Davis, Boone, Kilgore or Martin, Brandon Thomas, and Joe Staley.

Need to pickup some vets on the defensive side, especially the line and corners. LB core should be solid with Borland/Wilhoite returning with Bowman.

Add 3 prospects via the first 3 rounds of the draft, Niners will be ready to go again.
