Looks good! I would probably put Monte Vista in the top 4 of D1. For sure over Dublin, maybe even at #2 spot.

D2 Who has Windsor played, good record but how's schedule?? Even though El Cerrito record not good they crush Mt Eden. Newark and EC in championship.

MV at the 2 seed? Freedom beat MV head to head. If they win the BVAL they'll be ahead of MV for sure. The committee likes to reward head to head wins and league champs. If MV overtakes DLS and Freedom drops then they might get a higher seed but that is a long shot. MV might be the better team, but they lost by 2 when those teams played. I've seen a lot of NCS seedlings and that is always a major factor. That's just the way it is.

For D1,
De la
Freedom
MV
Dublin

why? De la obvious

Freedom tough schedule, beat MV head to head

MV, tougher schedule than Dublin and DV and others below it. And I would say MV had a signature loss vs De La. Took them to OT and could have won with a free throw in in regulation. That one point probably cost them the two seeding but that is life.

Dublin, split with DV which indicates DV isn't as strong as its record might suggest, and Dublin has wins over 3 top 100 teams. DV's only top 100 win was vs Dublin. its other loss was to a team that would be rated about 150 if in California. it has few games versus other top 200 teams.

But Dublin also lost to Concord and Miramonte.

I still think if DV runs the table and wins the DFAL (not a sure thing), that they would be seeded higher than Dublin. If they should lose another league game and finish tied with Dublin, then maybe not and the tiebreaker may be overall strength of schedule.

You can try to gauge schedules in a lot of ways, but in league play, everyone plays the same teams and has the same SOS.

Observer, I can't argue with you. And maybe Miramonte does what it is capable of doing, which is to beat DV at home. Miramonte is a puzzle to me. I guess I just wish strength of schedule trumped leaguej so that coaches took on competitive non leagues. Concord, by the way, plays a very tough non schedule. Tougher than any of these teams save De La Salle. They beat a few teams ranked ahead of them, Dublin and Newark Am among them. I saw Concord and I think on most days they could take DV. No matter if it is DV or Dublin higher than one another, MV has played a tougher schedule and should be ranked higher than both (if they take care of business from here on out).

I think, based on looking at Maxpreps week to week, that it behooves teams to schedule soft early. it looks like early wins and higher early rankings gives those with better records an advantage even if they lose a few. it all will be resolved with play offs eventually.

Those seedings look good. No doubt you will have some seeding situations this year (and every year for that matter) where you have a team like Windsor at #1 which is probably an underdog to a #4 EC. Windsor lost to Dublin in OT and had another close loss to a good Dorsey (LA) school in a tourney over Xmas. Don't discount them. They are good.

EC is not a giant. We have seen better Newark and EC teams than this year's. For sure, Windsor can't take nights off, and might not even see EC - let's say Concord wins DVAL, gets the #4 seed, and #5 EC has to play in Concord, and everywhere else on the road during NCS (minus first round). Concord has some long, not so wide bodies who will be able to clog the paint and EC will be shooting from the outside, like you would prefer them to.

Second, i don't know if I like Lick getting a 3 seed in d4, but 3-6 should be some permutation of Marin Catholic, Arcata, Piedmont, and Lick. But I can't come up with a good argument for why LIck shouldn't be 3.

I've seen EC a few times this year. At times they look average at best. At other times they look like they could knock off virtually anybody in the top 10. If you get them on an off night a team like Windsor can definitely prevail. When they are hot and playing to their potential I would pick them to win D2.
