Division I: Granada beat St. Mary’s-Stockton 6-4
The run for the Matadors ends with a NorCal title highlighted by a five run, second inning. Senior Parker Warner had a double and two RBI and Senior AJ Martinez ended his season on an eight game hitting streak, including a couple of game winners. Junior Jake Sekany got the win after giving up four runs in four innings with seven strikeouts. Senior AJ Hattaway tossed 2.2 shutout innings of relief.
Division II: Cardinal Newman beat Redwood 10-3
An eight run, third inning busted this one open as Cardinal Newman claimed the D2 NorCal title. Seniors Diego Boardman and Sam Valenti each had two RBI and seniors Jacob Moreda and Tanner Bradley had three hits apiece. Junior Josh Jannicelli gave up a run over 4.1 innings. Redwood sophomore Theo Trono went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. The Giants are the first Marin County program to reach the NorCal championship game for baseball.
Division III: Oakmont beat Central Catholic 10-3
Oakmont won the rematch of the SJS Division III finals as juniors KC Tibbits and Cooper Kunis each had two RBI. Sophomore Wyatt Pennman also had two RBI for the Vikings, which got four innings of three run ball from junior Brady Fearn. Central Catholic sophomore Kayden McHenry, who also pitched in relief, went 2-for-3 with a RBI.
Division IV: Bradshaw Christian beat Piedmont 6-0
Junior Ethan Rickert and senior Micah Nicholson combined for an eight hitter with nine strikeouts as the Pride finished 33-1 and on a 17 game winning streak. Nicholson also went 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and junior Landon Carter also drove in a pair of runs. Piedmont junior Will Parker went 2-for-3 in the loss.
Division V: Woodland Christian beat Menlo 3-2
Woodland Christian scored two runs in the top of the first to gain early control and eventually give the SJS its third title of the day. Woodland Christian is 26-2 since losing its first two games of the spring. Sophomore Jayden Badhesha gave up one run in five innings of work with five strikeouts. Menlo sophomore Chuck Wynn went 3-for-3 with a double and RBI.
