I see there is a Simply basketball event at Monterey Trail high school Saturday. I don’t know if this is the final lineup. I’m not sure if this is all the games.

(Monterey Trail HS – 1/11/25)

11:30 am Venture Academy (Stockton) vs. The King’s Academy

1:00 Hug (Reno, Nev.) vs. St. Paul-St. Vincent (Vallejo)

2:30Lincoln (Stockton) vs. Vanden (Travis AFB)

4:00 Monterey Trail (Elk Grove) vs. Sacramento

5:30 Modesto Christian vs Inglewood

The Inaugural Battle at Trail and Community Expo will be held this Sat Jan 11 at Monterey Trail. In addition to a host of Community partners and vendors we will have 6 showcase games. The official and updated lineup is below:

1130 Pleasant Grove vs SPSV
1pm Venture Academy vs The Kings Academy
230pm Rio Americano vs Archie Williams
4pm Sacramento vs Amador Valley
530 Vanden vs Lincoln (Stockton)
7pm MT vs Modesto Christian

Nice Showcase for a Great Program!

Those are some tough matchups from the North Bay to the South Bay to the East Bay from Sac town down the valley, Stockton to Mo town.

I know we will be battling a very talented team Monterey Trail squad in what could be a early preview of the SJS D1 playoffs in 4 weeks.

I like we added some size and feel like this will be a down to the wire contest. Crusaders get a chance to regroup and show dominance after losing in Newport Beach Last weekend.

Did you say Inglewood ?

Here's wishing you great hoops

Apparently, Inglewood was coming.. I’m thinking the fires have their season paused or stopped altogether.

I bet a lot of other schools down there are in the same boat.

Will the event be streamed?

The streaming by NFHS is announced and the cam is live-operated…

I just arrived, and St Pat St Vincent is carving up Pleasant Grove at the half…. 40-18.

70-49 final.

Next up, Venture Academy of Elk Grove vs. The King’s Academy of Sunnyvale.

king’s hast to be favored, rated #125 vs Venture’s #365.

King’s is very young, with only two seniors on the roster, one being freshman Boss Mhoon (all-names club!) who is scoring at a 15.5 clip.

Another great name, junior Claxton Ladine, leads the club at 18.7 a game.

Venture’s leading scorer, 6’8” Jayden Fakhouri, their only real big, is averaging 18.7 per game.

Venture got within 5 at one point, but couldn’t break through…. King’s academy leads 43-32 at the half.

I don’t have any stats, but it seems senior Caedmon Dickson has scored quite a bit for King’s Academy. At least 3 corner 3’s that I remember.

71-51 now…. King’s freshman Boss Mhoon is good now, has every chance to be REALLY good in the coming years.

Next up, 9-5 Archie Williams vs 13-4 Rio Americano. Both teams ranked in the 130’s by MaxPreps, should be a good one!

Rio seems to have gotten things on the right track with 4 straight wins since losing by 19 to Placer in the Arnett final. Best of those wins is over a solid Woodcreek a few nights ago.

Archie Williams was surprised by 8-9 Marin Catholic the other night, and is trying to erase that from their minds, hoping to get back to the level they were at when knocking off my Campo Cougars.

Just found this, an excellent flipbook program.

Another big quarter for Archie Williams…. 41-29.

What’s that…. 16-9, I think…. nah, 16-8.

55-39 final

Archie Williams’s Meezy Butler named Player of Game. 15 points, I think I heard…
