Bellarmine ends Folsom's 30 game winning streak and advances to the 1-AA state finals. Excellent high school football game.

Congrats to the Bells!!!! Way to represent the CCS! Now go get one for Nor Cal

so I have to say I'm pretty disappointed after seeing Folsom for the first time tonight... after reading all the posts over the course of the season there was some people on here saying that this team was on the same level as years past. They are a really good football but not close to the Browning years... and there's nothing wrong with that... but I was expecting more for sure

You are correct. They were not on the same level as last year, not even close. They lost 21 of 22 starters from last year's state title team. The fact that they were in the regional bowl game was pretty amazing in itself. They showed a lot of heart.

The Bells were just a better team last night. And they deserve it. Go Norcal at the state game!

God bless.

I just finished watching coverage of the last play of the game. I guess it was kind of an obvious play, but I was struck by the full defensive coverage of BCP. You have heavy blitz pressure from the line along with man2man coverage downfield. Three Folsom receivers blazed downfield for the Jeffery Hail Mary. BCP had 4 defenders on two receivers for where the ball eventually sailed to. Great last play by Bells to seal their win.

Please link a single (as in, absolutely *any*) post that claimed this Folsom team was as good as any of the last 3. Having paid close attention to this board, I haven't seen anyone make this comment.

Agree no one thought this Folsom team was nearly as good as last years team. I think everyone thought they were beatable. The only problem was not many SFL homers thought Bellarmine had a shot to be the team to beat them.

Agree. It was more of many SFL fans (not all) that believed specifically the Bells didn't have a shot.

Many used the Del Oro game as a benchmark. I looked at Elk Grove and St Mary's and it seemed the Bells would be in this game. I watched some film of Folsom and Del Oro and it seemed DelOro had trouble with Folsom's o-line and also were hit by some big plays. I thought Bells would fair better on Big Plays (which they did in 1st half, but second half it seemed they got rid of blitz andJ effrey had all the time in the pocket to pick the Bells apart) The Bells also put all their LBs back and seemed they were just defending the pass. Was a strange defensive adjustment and also Folsom made some great adjustments on offense. Bells really made some good adjustments on offense- they must have saw something, because they were having more success rushing the ball. In any event, I thought it was going to be a good game and would have been surprised if it was a blow out. Wasa classic game.

I don't have the patience to go back through every thread over the past four months, but G61 had discussed it.

Lol NOBODY ever said this. Show us proof. We all said Folsom was good, although not even close to the state title teams of past. This team lost 21 of 22 starters from last year.

Your claim has been proven false my brother.

God bless.

so after being called to the carpet I went back and found proof on two different posts that G61 said he wouldn't be surprised if they lost a game this year... so I stand corrected. My bad.

Thank you for admitting a small mistake. Not many people do that on here. We all make them.

God bless.

This 2015 team was several notches below the 2014 team, especially on defense and the lines, but I do think this team was better, all-around, than the 2012 and 2013 teams. I don't think either of those teams could have beaten this Bellarmine team, but this one nearly did.

I'd rank the 2014 and 2010 teams as their best, followed by 2015, 2009, then the 2012 and 2013 teams. The 2012/13 teams had Browning and really good WR's, but had more holes. The defense wasn't as good nor were the lines.
