Everyone is probably a little biased but it gots to be City College in SF

why is that? i hear lots of people trash talkin the program...
my list is:
City college
San mateo
Laney
Chabot
Contra Costa

CCSF- Year in and out a factory.

The next tier I would throw these teams in the mix. These programs always have a lot of D1 players.

Butte
SRJC
American River JC (more recent)
College of San Mateo
DVC

Depends on what your criteria is.

Best team is usually City College.

If you're a player and looking to move on to a 4 year school, DVC is the best bet.

That's the big conversation. All those places say (and do) get many of their kids to 4 yr colleges.
Which places the most and and the better schools is the question...

i know that contra costa, laney, chabot all send around half dozen each year....

Oal - The schools you are mentioning have upped their games and providing a valuable service to the young men who did not get that mentoring at the high school level and now have futures at a four year school and beyond. I would throw DVC in with them.

CCSF and CSM are different in the respect that they get guys from out of the area and the playing field is different. I appreciate what the other schools are doing as they are taking care of their own in the community- thus, community college. I still think we need to do a better job at the high school level so they are prepared better coming out of high school.

good points. i know several kids asking me for advice on this and it really is hard to choose.
laney had their QB come from the midwest and was offered and going to UNLV.
CCSF and San Mateo are strong but how much better are they than DVC and Chabot?

Much better. Check the CSM website. It only has results back to 2009, but none of those teams (DVC, Chabot, and throw in Laney since you mentioned them earlier) have beaten CSM since then. CSM has only beaten CCSF twice in that span.

Community Colleges can change their program within a year with quality coaches. I helped out a couple years ago with a young head coach in baseball at a cc and he turned that program around and were state champs in his 2nd year. More importantly, we placed every sophomore at a four year school the next year. That's what good programs do!

Most parents have no idea how valuable Juco's are with their sport programs until their sons/daughters don't get that D1 scholarship.

Check the statistics even George Rush can attest to this stat, or not because he doesn't want to admitt that since 2006 to Present, College of San Mateo (CSM) has transferred more kids to D1 or D1AA schools on full ride scholarships than city. CCSF has been struggling with violations and penalties from the state due to large sums of money not being accounted for...ahem. But CSM takes the higher road they're mantra is go to city and sit and watch an out of state players win you a ring or come to CSM and play go on to D1 with full ride scholarship and the support of a great academic staff behind you at CSM to get there. Up to you. Go Dogs!!!

Sic is correct re CCSF and accreditation challenges. There's no question CCSF has the most out of state players but CSM is second with third far behind. CSM is also doing a great job moving their players on but I'd like to see the official numbers.

Of course, it would be nice to see SFSU and UOP bring back their programs. That goes for St. Mary's and Santa Clara too.

Thank you Title IX.

Agreed! Too much talent in Cali, it's ashame options are limited! Cal state eastbay (Hayward St) Sonoma State, Chico St. etc. are options the are no longer.

Used to love the Big Little game SCU/SMC. Hell even lower level D1, Fullerton and Long Beach!

I miss games like UOP vs. Nebraska. They'd give up 70 points but rake in some dough.

Butte has two national championships (08',13') to their credit, and is 2-2 vs city since 2010. Certainly not as many D1 prospects every year but should be considered one of the top tier teams

CCSF has turned more into a greater bay area team than an out of state team. They are always going to have an out of state presence because they are a desired school, but examine the roster and you will see 75-80% Northern California kids.

73 kids on the roster. Not much listed from SoCal, but quite a few from SJS. Some familiar names that I thought had gone on to 4 year schools like Jamirr Holland from Foothill.

CCSF Roster

My cousin Brendan Royal played for CCSF. Last we spoke he wanted to attend a Pac 12 school. I have to contact him to see how the process is going.

18 out of 73 is roughly 25% out of state for CCSF

I stopped counting OOS players at 40 on Butte's Roster
5 OOS players on ARCs roster
7 for CSM
16 for De Anza College
19 for Fresno
