BOD vs CN

58-54 BOD
FInal..

BOD ratcheted up the pressure in the 2nd half... CN not mature enough yet to handle the heat.

CN played a great 1st half.

BOD played a great 2nd half getting all the 50/50 balls.

In the end BOD made the plays coming down the stretch and CN had some costly turnovers which ultimately was the difference.

all the games in the Open bracket are being played out... there is a true 1-6 seeding.

BOD goes to CLET next week.

Heritage goes to CN for the 5/6 game.. next weds

ALL the teams are automatically in Norcals by being placed in the OPEN.
Thx. Young team. Good learning experience for those kids.

what is confusing?
I think my question is pretty clear. Is it up to the kid? Is it a school by school rule? county? If so what is the reasoning if they are just going to use it as a chin strap? It's dumb. I'm just curious after watching clips of the game.

Right now in Santa Rosa if you are on a school campus (any school) masks are mandated. There is a meeting next week to look into changing that. I was at games tues and weds also (at different schools) and had to wear a mask in the stands.

Got it. As far as CN and O dowd, Monica gets the max out of her girls. They play incredibly disciplined/tough and they do a great job of scouting. When we played early in the year they knew exactly what plays we were running and made it really hard on us to score. They are as prepared as anyone. She deserves credit for getting that team into the open.

For the chin guards on players playing basketball.... No comment

The fact that CN got into the NCS OPEN was a major accomplishment for this team. In games against Mitty , SRV and BOD, CN has played 7 great quarters of the 12 but they simply aren't mature enough yet to close those level of teams out. IMO I think this is Mertle's best coaching job of her career. If you look at this team we definitely don't pass the eye test.

indoor events in several counties you are supposed to wear a mask. this has been in place for months. fans are supposed to wear mask as well. now is it enforced? clearly not for the players but there is no rule that enforces it within the playing court. it is like, the rule says dont roll through a stop sign but we all do it.

What we've been told as refs is that it is up to each site administrator to inform us before the game what will be required of players on the court regarding masks. There is no penalty, but if the site admin tells us masks are required then we can send players to the bench if they refuse to keep the mask up. The chin straps are silly and I sure hope some AD doesn't get clever and decide to try and require masks as a way to slow down a team with a short bench or high octane offense...this is the CIF and sections fault for not simply establishing a guideline that can be fairly and consistently enforced across the section/state.
