We all know the Bay Area's own Kyree Walker. One of the best Freshman to ever play the game in Bay Area history. Ends up transferring to Hillcrest Prep and the rest is history.

So I just looked it up and he's pretty old for a junior. He's already 18. So that would make him eligible for one of those new G-League "professional path" contracts. I personally think after this season ends, he's going to be one of those to get one of those deals. It's 125K for 5 months of basketball.

My question is do you think there are any other players from the Bay Area that might make the same choice?

Someone like Jordan Brown easily would have gotten one of those "professional path" contracts and could be sitting on the bench making 125K, instead of sitting on the bench for Nevada and making zero dollars and zero cents.

Thoughts?

Interesting concept... I see the G League has a committee (including former stud PG Rod Strickland) that selects who's eligible. Zero idea whether either of these guys would get selected, but this seems a viable option for whomever does get selected, esp. those who'd rather just ball then play student...

Maybe for Walker, Maybe, but not for Brown. At his height the guys playing his position in the "New NBA" are highly skilled inside and outside the paint. Also he needs to prepare his body for the NBA, I've been to 3 Nevada games this year and his teammates are men! The difference between their bodies and his is significant. That's what is waiting for him at the next level. He is young has plenty of time and will make it for sure. Does Walker shoot it well enough? Go watch Stockton G league team play some games. A lot of dudes playing who can fly, but cant crack the top because of shooting. The G league option will be more selective than people think.

He's a bold prediction. Jordan Ford has a better chance of playing in the league than both of them.

Thats not a bold prediction. Brown is looking very likely to be a complete bust and Ford is thriving. Ford won't get drafted but I would be surprised if he didn't land on an NBA roster at some point.

I know. Ford will go in the second round next I believe. I wouldn't put any money on Kyree Walker either. Same height and player as a fresh in HS as he is today.
Brown I'm not totally writing off. He's still young and it could take a couple years. But in terms of MCD All American I'm not sure anybody is having a worse or least impactful season. Very disappointing.

I'm not a huge fan of Walker, I like Ford's game.

That being said, I honeslty don't know how someone can think Ford has a higher chance of playing in the league then Walker as of right now.
