Archbishop Riordan (aka SFBC) goes 4-0 to take the Pacific Division bracket at the Border League held this weekend in Las Vegas.

Why would you go all the way to Las Vegas to play in that division..
Not sure how the division placement was decided but gives the team game experience. Sensley, Rencher, Hilman and Emeneke played well. Really impressed by Kuminga’s cousin Nate Tshamala’s overall game especially from 3pt range.
When you have a team like a Riordan, you tell the organizer of the event what level you want to play at. Long way to go to play a decent SoCal D3 team in final is useless in my opinion.
Teams sign up a year in advance for that event. So they may not have had a slot available in one of the higher divisions. They probably didn’t even know they were playing in this until Sensley agreed to come back.
Also even though they didn’t play them, Corona Centennial, and Bishop Gorman were playing games there, so the Riordan staff could at least scout some of their future opponents.
Alex Kuminga is now at Coronado HS (Henderson, NV). He played in last weekend's Border League for them under their club name, Air Nado.
