Brackets are UP!

My guess is that they are looking for an available large gym to use, and Sunday wouldn’t be a good day to make contacts and plan things out.

Dougherty is the higher seed, so I’d think whatever in-between spot they get would probably be closer to Dougherty than Santa Maria.

Maybe somewhere near San Jose?

Would not be totally shocked if Union Mine upset 2 Hillsdale. When UM is shooting well, they are very dangerous.

The game will be at DV

Im loving how the D1 bracket shaped out 1 through 16. Lots of matchups that pit different styles that make the games extra hard to predict. Can SI pull off the 16 vs 1 upset? Will Riordan exact revenge vs Campo? Can University and Jesuit has makings of a buzzer beater game. Will Serra grind out and suck Salesian into a low scoring affair? And lastly can SH continue this enchanted run? LETS GO!!!!!!!

that would be my guess (not sayin you're guessin....). decent size gym and i can't imagine too many St Joe's fans driving up 200+ miles from Santa Maria. dublin gym would be another option as it's bigger than DV.

Hahaha. Yup.
Im going to check out university/Jesuit on Tuesday.
#7 in D3 is rough but huh guys are as good as anybody in that bracket. Rio can really shoot. Get out on them and you will be fine .
Larry - Need to get there first.... game by game. I thought you would like these numbers...

Regular Season 11-15
League 7-9
Currently 14-17
10 20+ point losses
6 38+ point losses

That is what competitive equity has become...... Seedings are very random and benefit the schools that should not be in lower divisions dramatically.

You are right. Don’t look past anybody especially this time of year. The madness of March is upon us.
Yeah those stats are ridiculous. (For both players and opponents).

Maxpreps has updated the location of the DV vs St Joseph game with the following:

The Dougherty Valley (San Ramon, CA) varsity basketball team has a home playoff game vs. St. Joseph (Santa Maria, CA) on Saturday, March 4 @ 7p.

So dcfan was spot on! Don't see the tickets posted on gofan.co yet though. DV fans will sell that place out in a heartbeat! Passionate fan base for this team.

Yep just a bit of inside info 😆

MC415- Marin Catholic is playing Oakwood- a tiny private based in Morgan Hill- with quite a few european imports on the roster. They're not bad.

Yeah after doing some research I think they beat MC pretty easily, this MC team sucks so bad they have no business wasting anyone spot in NorCal at any division

Why did St Joseph make the Open Division over Inderkum?

H2H win for Inderkum…essentially same SOS

Central section champs and a very good resume. 1 pt loss to MC.
Jesuit had a better argument than Inderkum.

I think they got the open right in both norcal and SoCal for the limited teams they selected. As for the other seedings it was very inconsistent.

When Marin Catholic beats HMB they will be playing the DIV NorCal final at home Tuesday night. Competitive Equity at its finest . Hard for me to say a lot. JSHS was 5-7 in the VVAL last year and played in the DIV State finals. With that said , I’m a big believer that we should go to Open Division for the top 8 and enrollment for the rest or less teams in each division. Everyone getting a ribbon is terrible and if we cannot even take the time to properly seed teams, this is all incredibly embarrassing.

@winetot , You guys were amazing last night. Not many norcal teams (regardless of division) beat JS when they are in synch like there were. #22 was going bonkers in first half but you guys got after him in 2nd and your size made it tough for them to finish. Good luck against Tech.

We have played together the last several games and we are sharing the ball. 5 different players made 3's last night which helps Travis and Vince when they are inside. Travis is playing incredibly on both sides of the ball which is becoming contagious. We have our hands full tomorrow night, it's essential to take care of the ball and not give up second chance points. Our players have all been here before so I do not think the game will be too big for them. Hopefully we can get another one on the road. One at a time, right Larry?

yup! Happy for you guys. Seems like the kids all really get along well. The tall lefty off bench played some great minutes for you guys as did the backup pg. I love the energy and leadership from your starting pg also.
Not sure I can make the trip but would love to catch it.
