It was expected to be closer. Instead, the 95th Little Big Game between ancient rivals Burlingame and San Mateo turned out to be a rout. Burlingame won, 49-21 (the halftime score was 14-14), behind 175 rushing yards, four TD's and seven extra point conversion kicks by Senior RB Lukas Habelt. His 31 points were the most ever scored by a Panther in the LBG, according to available records. Burlingame, 5-5, secured a Central Coast Section playoff slot. San Mateo, 7-3, won the PAL Ocean (B) Division and garnered an automatic CCS berth earlier in the season. The all-time LBG record is 59-32-4 in Burlingame's favor. Saturday's victory was the Panthers' 13th in a row in the series.
