Campolindo 38 Analy 28 FINAL

28-0 Campo with 2 minutes left in the half. Physicality is winning so far.

Out of the last few years, this is the most physical team Campolindo has fielded. Really good on the lines

Now 31-21 Campo with 8 minutes left. Good fight being shown by Analy

I was just hyping up Analys execution and they go out and drop like 10 passes. Not their night. Their qb played well though. As did Campos. I was sorta surprised that Campo didn't handle Analy upfront. Campo got the best in the trenches but it was pretty even at times.

Analy had chances but their main guys picked a bad night to drop balls. They should have been up 14-0 early. Campo executed when they needed too and were able to hold on. Great football game tonight. Analy battled to the end. Campo has a solid balanced attack.

Campolindo's defense put the clamps to the tiger running game right from the start as they gained 39 yards on 16 carries and it was Abbott,Flowers,Cassidy,McNeil and Strother that kept Analy' running game in check....to make things worse, the Tiger receivers dropped 10 passes and the QB thru nine bad passes and the passes that were dropped were bullet passes, almost impossible to catch.... At the beginning of the second quarter, the Tigers were driving and were down to the eight yard line and Newman fired pass into the end zone and it was picked off, but to make things worse, in mid 2nd quarter Newman fired a long pass that dropped right into the tiger receivers hands which would have been a sure TD and he dropped it...With 1:45 to go Analy finally scored on a 31 yard pass to Vanwheel...But in the mean time the Cougars were busy racking up 24 points as Ward and Cassidy were running wild as Cassidy scored on a five yard run and followed with a one yarder and Max Flowers was pulling in a 24 yard TD pass and as the 2nd quarter was ending the Cougars booted a 27 yard field Goal....
In the second half, Analy was behind 31-7 and the passing game began to come to life as Newman was firing one short pass after another. A one yarder in the 3rd quarter and in the fourth quarter, the tigers hit on passes of one yard and nine yards, the last one with only 19 seconds left in the game.
Analy tried a on side kick which worked, but the Tigers ran into a stiff Cougar defense and more dropped passes....Campolindo's last TD was a 33 yard run by Niki Moore..
For Analy, the running game went no where with 16 attempts for 39 yards, but the passing game was a different story as Newman fired 59 passes for 315 yards to Vogel, Van wheel and Houseman and was sacked three times. The tiger pass defense stood up pretty well against the cougars and Newman only had to scramble five times Now Campolindo was a different story as the cougars carried the ball 39 times for 250 yards, went thru 22 passes and hit 11 for 175 yards and was sacked twice did not fumble once and was intercepted once while the tigers were picked off two times....Campolindo racked up 17 first downs, had 7 penalties for 60 yards and punted four times while Analy had 18 first downs, five penalties for 55 yards and punted five times. On kickoff's, Matthew Blair booted all but one kick off into the end zone which put the tigers backs against the wall....

I really thought it would be Analy's turn to upset campo. That program just seems to win and win... Great year for the tigers. Impressed how the fought back after being down big.

The BIG IF......If Analy' QB and receivers could have connected in the first half, this might have been a different game....But the Campo defense while being held in check in most cases, still was putting the pressure on Newman.....The Tigers tried several side line passes that the campo defense was ready for and again....the dropped pass plague continued.....
